    Nvidia Shield review

Pretty interesting article on portable Android gaming. I'm glad there is an HDMI output on that thing so you can connect to your large HD screen. Thats cool in its-self! Funny how he says most of the Android games aren't made for a controller, but the 5 in. screen is also a touch-screen, so that...

    Save Post

Yes, are we going to try it? Hopefully it won't break anything... We aren't running any special plugins so that won't be a problem...

    Arx Fatalis Guide

Back when I was busy playing Battlefield 1942, Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Half-Life... there were some amazing RPG games that just didn't get the credit they deserved. I wasn't aware of open world exploration games like Morrowind, or the ability to level up your character and customize their...

    grub problem

I don't fully understand the syntax, but I figured out where to make the changes for adding another operating system or removing one. Like when I installed Mint 13, it automatically populated a bunch of Mint 13 "safe mode" entries that I didn't want. At one point I accidentally deleted my Linux...

    Steam Source Games Guide

Maybe, but the reports on WineHQ is that its mostly "garbage" The last test was Feb 2013 on Fedora 18 with Wine 1.5.22 Maybe you could do some tests and try some newer versions of wine. Looks like Retribution runs ok in Wine Is Dawn of War II specifically a Steam game?

    grub problem

I've had problems like this before too. I added a Terabyte hard drive to my system and Grub got screwed up and wouldn't boot from the existing hard drive. Took me a while to figure out which drive and which partitions to put in the grub.conf I don't understand why it can be so confusing when...

I just hate it when this happens!!

I've never had problems with Linux auto-mounting my drives. I did have problems unmounting drives in the past, but thats not related. A few years later I found that the problem was in the filesystems table (fstab) Fix it and didn't have a problem again.

    Flatout Guide

There has been some debate about whethere Flatout is just a plain racing game or a "watch-the-ragdoll-physic-mangle-your-character" game. To be precise... its both! Race the A.I. cars or just smash into everything and watch the mangling physics. Either way its pretty fun! Flatout runs great...

I just hate it when this happens!!

Gotcha, thanks for the HAL information. I wasn't sure and havn't heard of it before, so I was thinking it was distro specific. Anyways, I would login as root and see if the problem still exists. If not, then its definitely a permissions problem. From there I would create a new Daniel...

    So which OS?

Yeah, sucks for laptop users.... Ironically my Chromebook can play a number of games! Torchlight 1 in fact! It has an Intel HD 2000 chip... nothing special, actually quite old, but still plays them old games even in Linux.
