What are you currently playing? How's the backlog? March 2014

That figures... I'm starting to figure out my problem... I like to get right into a story and start solving quests and puzzles meanwhile hacking down enemies. For some reason managing troops, money, towns, governments, etc. start to bore me. :( Maybe its the waiting time? I don't know... I...

What are you currently playing? How's the backlog? March 2014

Hey Allen, glad to hear you are still around. Its good to be working too! I just tested Tomb Raider 2013 and it is absolutely beautiful even with Direct X 9 Runs almost flawlessly in PlayOnLinux with Wine 1.6.2 I really really gave Mount and Blade a fair chance and just got frustrated. I even...

    Skyrim Issues

Welcome to the forums Aremis. Xionwalker got it working by installing the proprietary video drivers in Ubuntu 14.04 What video card/chip are you using on your computer (Intel, AMD, Nvidia)? Try searching for "additional drivers" in Ubuntu Apps and then select the proprietary driver to be...

Problem with League of Legends Wheezy 64

I remember starting a game with bots and League of Legends still finds other "live" players to join your session. But at the loading screen, it can take up to 15 minutes depending on the speed of each player joining your game. You can't actually start playing until all of your games have loaded...

Problem with League of Legends Wheezy 64

Oooh, not good. Ok, I'm glad you have been able to run Guild Wars. Sounds like the have the proprietary drivers installed for your AMD HD 5870 card. If you are not sure, definitely look into installing those proprietary drivers: fglrx There is a 1.7.19-Leagueoflegends version? I had no...

    Everquest II

Thanks, I'm glad you are patient enough to troubleshoot it... If my internet was faster, I would probably take some time and download the whole game.... 15 GB is a LOT! I didn't realize it was actually running! Good job! FGLRX drivers are the best you can do with AMD cards... unfortunately...

Problem with League of Legends Wheezy 64

I'll need some specs before I can help you troubleshoot LoL. What distro are you using? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? What video chip/card do you have (Intel, AMD, Nvidia)? Can you run any other games in Linux? I was reading over your debug, by they way, thank you for posting the entire log! This...

    Everquest II

Welcome to the forum... and congrats on your progress! PlayOnLinux is a great tool for testing wine versions and tweaking settings on the fly. I'm surprised that the 32-bit virtual drive doesn't actually download the game. Not a huge deal because you an always launch the thinclient later on...

    Mint 17 Upgrade

Yeah, I knew pepperflash was Google, thats why I was confused that I had to install flash for Chromium. Normally it would update by its-self. I had to do the same thing with Ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop. Not sure why? I will be testing Tomb Raider 2013 tomorrow and will see if Cinnamon can...

    Unable to initialize

What video chip/card do you have? Sounds like it won't set a "valid" resolution. Sometimes there is a config in the game folder or a launcher where you can set resolution before launching the game. Or maybe it doesn't like the 60hz or 75hz?

Wow, really? I want to play Watch Dogs! Too stinking expensive right now. I'll probably pick it up in a few years when they "hype" is over.

    Mint 17 Upgrade

Well, its almost identical to Mint 16. I am having a problem with gvfs and "connect to server" through nemo. I just posted on their forum today. Maybe I'll have to re-install the nemo packages? Otherwise, I'm finally on Nvidia 331 drivers :) The 32-bit libraries I installed in Mint 16 are...

Attempting to play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

No way, thats interesting! One thing I know about Wine and PlayOnLinux is that they don't support Pulseaudio. So they default to Alsa. From what I've been told, Alsa does not like to share audio with other programs at the same time. So if you happened to have the internet or a music player...

Attempting to play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Ugh, I hope this isn't a pulseaudio problem that still exists! I had problems with Mint 16 and pulseaudio. I read a LOT of posts about Ubuntu 13.10 having the exact same problems. I was hoping it would be fixed when Ubuntu 14.04 was released. This worries me because I just upgraded to Mint 17...
