    Linux Powered Rifle

Thats what I mean, with some clever programming it won't shoot specific elements. Oh, I don't know... like a... person? What I originally meant was the OS could lock it from firing at all. Like a safety that requires a password. I don't want to think where that would go...

The wait for DirectX 10 in Wine

Exactly, I have had a LOT of success with Directx 9 games and those D3dx10 games in my list still run as D3dx9 compatible I hope they can crack the mystery because there are still more games coming with D3dx10 compatability and a little bit of extra eye candy.

    Steam Games List

Re: List of native Linux games in Steam Those 3 games are native to Linux? I hope that is true... seems like there were a few games you couldn't run like Borderlands.

    Old Video Card Cap

I was thinking of capping video cards at the 8800 because of the new Nvidia 310 drivers. Just to keep things fresh... at least that is what Nvidia is doing...? Those old cards should still work with most games and I'm NOT saying we deny we don't support them, but maybe we should keep pushing...

    Linux Powered Rifle

I wonder if Linux can lock the gun so no-one can accidentally shoot themselves in the foot? Will Wine run on it?

For now I can live with this too. When I start upgrading and building new machines I may have to finally eliminate some games from the list. You know, Windows isn't all that different. Most games still run in XP but some games require an emulator like DOS Box. The cool thing with PlayOnLinux...

Arg! Thats not good news... As you have already noticed, some games won't work in newer versions of Wine and we are forced to use an older version. There seems to be a backwards compatability issue with certain games and we are stuck with the old Wine. If your card won't work with older Wine...

Very good point! And, Wine will probably never make those older versions support your card either. But as far as you could tell, wasn't it only Steam that showed the wrong card specs? I bet other retail games will work with older versions of Wine as long as you stick to Direct X 9 games.
