    Risen Guide

Yeah, how fun is it when you attack one guard and next thing you know the entire garrison is at your doorstep?

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) Released

You may have to install pavucontrol for pulseaudio and/or do some config tweaking. Wine/PlayOnLinux doesn't support pulseaudio and Ubuntu related distros use Pulseaudio to control ALSA. Did you already mess with the system sound output options?

    IndieBox

I used to go to Bookman's just to look for used games and would find an interesting game in a case/box. If it sounded cool and the tiny screenshots were impressive enough, I would purchase it. This however seems kinda risky... I'm not sure why they require a subscription, but I would rather...

    Risen Guide

I originally played the Demo and LOVED IT! But the cost was never low enough for me to pick it up. Now I'm playing through and am having a lot of fun. I never knew character development was so involved. It easily rivals development in Morrowind. Step by step earning every experience point...

    Risen Guide

Explore a volcanic Mediterranean island filled with tropical vegetation, dungeons, towns, sub-climates, catacombs and of course... deadly creatures! This is not your typical RPG. Yes you will find plenty of loot, alchemy, armor, weapons, skills & exploration but Risen is more like a simulation...

    IndieBox

Subscribe and receive DRM free games in the mail. https://www.theindiebox.com/ Who would have thought this would work? Kinda seems a bit "Gimmicky" but it just might work to help Indie developers and more DRM free games to rise up. There is a chance you might receive games you already own as...

    Christian Distro!

Yeah, I've had the same experience with hardware. I've been able to boot Fedora on almost all hardware, but even the newer versions might have a hard time with old hardware. I found that Mint Cinnamon has a hard time with different hardware too, but Mint KDE seems to work well on old hardware...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Guide

Hi, thanks for posting. Are you saying Steam won't launch or Skyrim won't launch? Don't forget that the In-Game Community overlay can cause games to crash at launch. Make sure to disable that overlay. Can you play any other games on your Distro?

    AmigaOS

To my surprise, there is an Amiga Operating System that is still in development. http://www.amigaos.net/ Who knew? Apparently it runs on some custom Power PC hardware, but actually supports internet browsing, Blender and other office needs. Pretty cool. We have some old G4's at work, I wonder...

    Fallout 3 Guide

I have been able to play Windows Media files by installing Windows Media Play 9 or 10, but I know that it doesn't cover everything. You would think if VLC can play any codec, Wine would be able to do it as well.

    Fallout 3 Guide

Fallout 3 is running very nicely! I installed it and continued from my save game in about 15 minutes. I am getting that crash you spoke of. So I'm renaming the music folder.

[How-To] Install the latest NVIDIA Drivers in Linux Mint 16 (petra)

sudo apt-get purge nvidia-331 I think that should do it, of course the correct name of the driver would suffice. Then again, I never had to install video drivers in Mint. So never had to uninstall them either.

[How-To] Install the latest NVIDIA Drivers in Linux Mint 16 (petra)

I have done that in the past, but have read that its a bad idea to manually install if you can just use a PPA

    Fallout 3 Guide

Is that what the black flickering was in your Metal Gear video? In Fallout 3, I had everything Cranked to the highest setting, but still no shadows. Everything has shading and is affected by light sources, but no shadows casted on the ground. I even watched a few video's of Fallout 3 in Windows...

[How-To] Install the latest NVIDIA Drivers in Linux Mint 16 (petra)

Exactly, and Steam recommends keeping your distro up to date as well. I'm just kinda scared since the Marley-PPA didn't work.

[How-To] Install the latest NVIDIA Drivers in Linux Mint 16 (petra)

Now that I am in Mint 16 64-bit I was thinking of adding this Ubuntu PPA at xorg-edgers: add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa Then trying the 331 or 337 drivers. I really need to know how to do this so I can stay up-to-date with my video drivers. What do you think?

    3.14 kernel and nvidia

I've always been worried about that when it shuts down unexpectedly. I have seen Windows get corrupt and Blue-Screens, but not so much Linux. Good your system has not experienced any corruption yet.

    Arx Fatalis Guide

I'm actually playing Arx Fatalis on my Acer C710 Chromebook with the Intel HD 2000 in ChrUbuntu. It runs just fine! I know its not a demanding game, but I was surprised that I could play it on my chromebook. Score another game that runs in Linux on Intel chips! Fun game too, kinda slow, but...

    3.14 kernel and nvidia

Correct me if I'm wrong... Killing Linux without properly shutting down can corrupt files/processes that were currently running right?

    Dungeon Keeper Guide

Maybe it did... I didn't look for that. I was playing on a laptop and just tried it out. The executable ran fine in Windows XP.
