    Spellforce Platinum Guide

Spellforce is a blend of rpg and rts, and this game manages this blend masterfully. Most of the game is very heavy on real time strategy elements, but through the entire game you have your main character that will keep gaining experience, skills and equipment. The game is divided into maps, and...

    Drakensang QT5 Patch Error

Every virtual drive you create in PlayOnLinux is stuctured like that. After the name of the virtual drive, you come the "drive_c" folder, which then emulates the windows structure from there so that games may install in a familiar environment.

    Starcraft II Guide

I love the single player campaigns in this game. The Heart of the Swarm expansion is great, and it really give you a lot of choice in how you want your swarm to evolve, a lot like the technologies you can research in the original Wings of Liberty campaign. The second expansion, Legacy of the...

    What do YOU have installed?

I had previously heard about the deepin Desktop environment, but I have to admit that I was not aware that it was a DE developed specifically for a distro. Deepin seem to be developed with a big focus on ease of use, the screenshots of the desktop environment also look very stylish so I can...

    What do YOU have installed?

Still on Arch 64-bit here, and the broadcom-wl driver works again thanks to some bright Gentoo heads that made a patch which has now been implemented by the broadcom-wl AUR maintainer. So I can finally use my wireless network on the 3.18 kernel. Desktop environment Xfce Default shell zsh...

    Starcraft II Guide

It could be that the desktop environment in your distro simply behaves slightly differently from what I am used to. I usually set the virtual desktop resolution to be the same as my desktop resolution since I have experienced similar problem to what you described, but only when I was not using a...

    Starcraft II Guide

The blue background is just the virtual desktop in wine. I always use it since I have actually had problems with some games refusing to launch properly without using a virtual desktop. Did you set the window size to be the same as your desktop resolution?

Dreamfall - The Longest Journey Guide

Dreamfall - The Longest Journey is the sequel to the point and click adventure game The Longest Journey. While the first game was a traditional point and click game, this sequel takes a different direction. The world is fully 3D with larger open environments to explore. There is also a combat...

    Broadcom wireless

I am on the 3.18 kernel now. I decided to use the usb adapter I have. I don't seem to get quite the same speeds, but it is not much of a problem. Thankfully, according to comments I've seen several places, better minds than mine are trying to figure out exactly what the problem is with the...

    Starcraft II Guide

Glad it helped, but I have to admit that I am not optimistic about what performance you can expect with integrated graphics. If you want a tip on what direction to go if you want to play games on Linux, then anything with an nvidia card is the preferred choice in my opinion.

    Starcraft II Guide

Update on the issue: I googled, and found this So it does seem that your problem is indeed caused by having Intel graphics. You have to force software rendering to display the battle.net launcher, but that will make games run horribly. Check the article I linked to, it might be able to help.

    Starcraft II Guide

I just installed Mint 17 64-bit in virtualbox, set up a 32-bit virtual drive in playonliux and followed my own guide to the letter and it works. I did not install any additional libraries for Mint so I really am not sure what is going on here. I am left wondering if the intergrated graphics can...

    Starcraft II Guide

The patch seems like an unnecessary workaround if using WinXP effectively solves the problem. There is no difference in performance or anything by using WinXP.

    Starcraft II Guide

I suspect a missing library problem, because I have no problems with the battle.net client using either wine version 1.7.22 as the guide was written with, or 1.7.33. I made two separate new installs with the newest installers available. I might give this a quick try in virtualbox with a clean...

    Starcraft II Guide

One more thing, do you have qt5 installed? The error seems to appear when the actual battle.net client is supposed to open, and it uses qt5.

    Starcraft II Guide

I just installed the game myself from scratch on my own system and I have no problems. I am really kind of stumped at what the problem is here. The log did not really have any useful information. Did you try to close the black window, and then continue with the guide as if the game installed...

    Assassin's Creed Guide

I really should install these games and play them again some time. They are really awesome games.

    Starcraft II Guide

Sorry that I have not had the time to look into this yet. I will be testing the install from scratch this weekend. It might be helpful if you can try it again by running it with Debug. Just select the game shortcut in the PlayOnLinux window, and then click on Debug on the side. Try to install...

GOG is really behind Linux games

They make .deb files for installing the game on Ubuntu and Mint. Although there are actually a couple of games on GOG that don't have those .deb installers, The Witcher 2 and Dreamfall Chapters. So I am not sure why they don't have such installers for all games. The Ubuntu/Mint installer really...

    GOG Implementing DRM?

I added in another paragraph in my quote. Basically they are saying that they can't promise that their installers will never change in the future and they can't promise that they will continue working on unsupported platforms. But it is also not their goal to break compatibility with extraction...
