The DRM cartridge thing has been a thorn for a while now; the attempt by the printer companies to lock out 3rd party ink and toner manufacturers has been going on for AT LEAST a decade.
While I acknowledge HP's (or LexMark's, or Ricoh's or Cannon's) right to refuse to service a printer (under...
Keep at it Daerandin! I'm proud of you man; working full time and going to school full time is not easy, and pulling As and Bs on top of that is a real accomplishment!
Oh, and so I can keep ThunderRd happy, Merry Christmas! (again):p
Missouri weather has ALWAYS been crazy. We live in that unique part of the country where the westward air currents from the mountains collide with the Canadian air from the north and the updraft from the Gulf.
To the extent that human activity is impacting the climate, it has only served to...
Oddly enough, I've been having some nightmares from my Army days recently. About 2 weeks of them, actually. Rather disquieting, and I'm starting to get a bit cranky from lack of sleep.
That usually happens when we are upset.
I'm truly sorry that you had to learn of the passing of your teacher this way. It's worth remembering, however, that we all pass. That he touched your life in such a positive way is a legacy worth leaving (and being the recipient of).
26F here, and we've got freezing drizzle, supposed to turn to snow, and we'll get around an inch or so.
First snow of the year here, so people will be crashing into things with wild abandon.
I just checked and according to Wikipedia I have survived no less than 76 'End of the World' predictions since I was born in '66.
I'm a SURVIVOR! :rolling:
What's particularly humorous is that the number of EOW event predictions increases seeming exponentially the closer you get to current times.
In general, I find webmail to be less functional than a full-fledged e-mail client like Thunderbird, but webmail has the advantage of working regardless of what computer I'm on.
Every e-mail client has idiosyncrasies. Not to be rude, but if you're looking for OE on Linux, you won't find it, for much the same reason that you aren't finding a replacement for OE on windows: Microsoft isn't interested in writing one.
Having said that, I used to use Thunderbird quite a...
I......umm.........how do I respond to this? LOL
At some level, I know that I'm more intelligent than average. I also think that I am more passionate than average. But I truly don't think of myself as 'fine and exceptional'. I DO recognize that the sin of pride is something I am at least as...
We are going to be 'bitterly cold' this coming week.
Apparently, slightly below freezing is now 'bitterly cold' in a part of the country which routinely experiences AT LEAST one day a year of sub-zero weather, and upwards of a month below freezing. ???confused???
Sometimes (and I'm speaking from personal experience here), we become so used to a certain way of thinking that as things change, we fail to follow the changes through to their logical conclusions. This is particularly true when we succumb to the 'well everyone else is doing it' school of thought.
