    How's it going?

Yea... I still recall when Dreamworks cut over 500 jobs. Never good news, I just hope I land somewhere stable enough to grow.

    How's it going?

@Aryvandaar: Windows experience still matters... there are thousand of businesses running it. Met some great people that were practically wizards with Active Directory and Powershell. Of course, saying this here in a linux forum is bound to raise dislike. @booman: Some companies actually...

    How's it going?

Wait till Windows 10 releases and you see technical recruiters say: "3-5 years of experience in Windows 10!". Haha... And yea... nowadays? The requirements are getting insane as the days go by. "Oh so you have experience in C++? But do you have experience in Agile, SCRUM, bla bla." Obvious...

    How's it going?

work stuff, huh. I've been unemployed for a while, haven't found a job due to job market being trash at the moment. (lots of awful things) @booman: I can chat linux, haha. I'm currently using Fedora 22, doing some C++/Qt development which is amusing being in a GNOME 3 environment (doesn't...

    How's it going?

What's up people, it's been a while! I'm sure you people have been up to no good so share a bit! As for me? I've been playing a lot of Dark Souls, incredibly amazing game. (note that I don't play it on linux, last time I did I had so much FPS problems it wasn't worth it). I'm currently...

League is almost my life! <:C

I love pulseaudio, sadly there's no one to polish pulseaudio audio driver in WINE and it's been like that for years. There are no risks on removing pulseaudio, it's relatively a really simple procedure: If you are using a debian derivative(Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc): sudo apt-get purge...

[Guide] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on GNU/Linux

@darker00 I have a feeling that winetricks didn't run correctly... https errors goes away once you install IE8 honestly... I'm trying to remember here since I don't have any computer with linux available at the moment I might just install ubuntu gnome on vmware and recheck all the commands...

[Guide] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on GNU/Linux

Could be that 1) you are launching the wrong WINE binary, has happened to me in the past. 2) you don't have security libraries installed properly which I in my opinion would be hard to believe with popular distributions. 3) There's something messy with your WINEPREFIX bottle. 1) Check that you...

    [WIP?] GamersGate Linux Download Client

Oh yea as for this, it became too painful to do follow-ups with gamersgate. I tried, sadly it felt like my answers just became more questions... Oh well!

    Top 11 Distros of 2015

You should put Antergos somewhere in there. By far one of the most friendly, easy to use Arch-based distributions. I was blown away by it recently after trying the live version, I find that Manjaro doesn't even compare in terms of experience. Personally, I'd like to say Fedora is great but it...

Bioshock Infinite now available on Linux!

Played a bit of it today, I must say it's really good. There's a few hiccups here and there but totally playable.

Bioshock Infinite now available on Linux!

Well, eON != WINE. eON is closed source and I very much doubt virtual programming (developers behind it) have the best interests in contributing to the WINE project, maybe.

    E-mail clients?

I'm looking for an e-mail client with good user interface. I'm tired of Thunderbird UI, I don't like it and I feel it to be really clunky. As of late I've been thinking of installing a simple web interface like Roundcube to manage my e-mails. Sadly it doesn't even support PGP or S/MIME (yet)...

What doubts or questions do you have about WINE?

My bad, I didn't mean to sound aggressive or anything. Well, biggest problem is that WINE site sucks... and WINE doesn't have any SANE introduction.... and I'm not talking about scanners here! A lot of people get lost in transition since WINE is pretty convoluted itself.

What doubts or questions do you have about WINE?

Wine Staging is not a fork of WINE. It's just a project with patches integrated in it.... A fork (in real terms) is when an individual or group decides to copy the project source code and work on their own thing because they no longer accept the state of the original project or because they...
