    [WIP?] GamersGate Linux Download Client

I've been poking/investigating the GamersGate downloader through Wireshark and replicating the same behavior on python (hopefully moving it to C++/QT5) I got most of what I wanted honestly. I'm sort of having "second doubts" mostly because this is completely unofficial and I don't really...

Lord Of The Rings Online installation

Hey @Kowalsky: Alright well, it sounds more like a PulseAudio issue than WINE itself. However let's not go empty handed. Do you know how to use virtual desktops? If you are running fullscreen you can switch to different virtual desktops. First, go get pavucontrol most distributions provide...

Lord Of The Rings Online installation

I've been wondering, is it like pulseaudio doesn't output the sound to your headphones? Does it work on normal speakers?

Lord Of The Rings Online installation

Download the latest WINE provided by PlayOnLinux, check if it's still the same behavior. Also, I'm guessing you are using PulseAudio?

[Guide] Running Child of Light on Linux

Hello everyone, today I’ll be posting a guide on how to run Child of Light, a beautifulRPG game by Ubisoft. This how-to requires you to have minimum knowledge of the terminal. Do not fret though, if you do all the steps you shouldn’t worry about a thing. My guides don’t include installation...

    Wine 1.7.36

Yep, the text is still missing even in 1.7.36. I don't mind using the argument as I have it automated.

    Wine 1.7.36

I'm still using -no-dwrite with 1.7.36. I know because I used 1.7.36 as the base to put Child of Light patches. (The guide is up, i'll post later, gotta go to college).

How much do you use Linux?

Well, this is my main computer. I am putting efforts in making games run under WINE. For example, yesterday I spent hours merging some patches that haven't made it to upstream on WINE 1.7.36 thus allowing me to run Child of Light. The binaries will be released along with the source once I'm done...

How much do you use Linux?

All day long. No trace of Windows. This is without including your usual support to your relatives, haha. I got rid of Windows last weekend, which is why I've become more active in writing WINE guides. I do play games as well. I'm playing Child of Light, a guide should be up this week. It...

[Guide] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on GNU/Linux

Hey, welcome! As far as I know all the Steam client does is download the standalone launcher with a few flags enabled. (like launching ffxivboot.exe with -issteam flag). Honestly, I bought the game before it came to Steam. It should NOT carry any differences in terms of code. As for applying...

    Skyrim troubles [resolved]

Could you open a new thread here? So we can isolate the issues you know, for future references. After opening the new thread please detail the problem you are currently experiencing, screenshots included if needed.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Guide

I just want to say... you don't use `sudo` to run games, it's not recommended and shouldn't be used to install/run games at all. @Sky Blue: Could you create a new thread in the forums? it'll be easier to follow. :(

    Reddit Linux Gaming

Personally I think adding M$ or Window$ is .... silly. They are a company, main purpose is to make money like any other company. There's a line to draw between free as in freedom. Not to be mistaken as free as free beer. If we were to analyze the state of current projects you'll see plenty of...

I used to post there from time to time, although as of late it has become a hivemind of users that feels entitled. If they don't get it [insert whining, bashing, etc]. [Guide] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on GNU/Linux

Yes, it's an MMO. (Hey... I wrote that in the first paragraph!) Final Fantasy have had three MMOs Final Fantasy 11 Final Fantasy 14 (defunct) Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn (practically, it's a revamp of what was 14 made better. FF14 had a lot of game design problems.)

[Guide] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on GNU/Linux

Screenshots have been added. I played on fullscreen yesterday, I know it's hard to notice the differences between Windows and Linux, haha. Still, if in doubt, watch the video!

Yea. I will add more screenshots later on. :) I don't usually flood it with screenshots, haha.

    Tired, but I did it!

We'll see! I don't think I'll use PlayOnLinux, but I will standardize the paths I used in Final Fantasy XIV guides so the user doesn't end up with 300 random folders/files.

    Tired, but I did it!

Finally, it took me like 8 hours straight porting a theme I did for Movable Type to Pelican, but I did it. I started a new website, hopefully I'll stick with it for a while. Part of purpose here is to keep talking about programming, linux, speak my thoughts and so on. Just yet another blog...
