    I need a boot disc...

Maybe there is a way to have a simple Bootable USB command prompt operating system that can execute an EXE? You are right, what is the point of all the "overhead" and "bloat" with Windows if you just need to execute a single application?

    I need a boot disc...

I found this article, but obviously you need to create the USB image in Windows. There is a chance it might work in Wine, but I'm not sure what dependencies the WinToUSB will need.

    I need a boot disc...

Ah, ok... Well, I've never done it, but I can do some research. I can download a Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft's download tool and then figure out how to put it on a bootable USB. Technically, you can run the command line during the Windows setup without installing windows at all, but I don't...

    Webex On Linux

Wouldn't they have to re-code the game to support 32-bit? Or do you mean all games and applications in the last 15 years should already be 32-bit compatible. I always look at it from a user perspective... I should be able to install Steam and my games without extra packages and libraries. But...

    I need a boot disc...

So this is like a catch 33 Need to install a patch UEFI but with an OS you don't have. You can actually run Windows off a USB drive kinda like Linux live disk

I hate installing 32-bit libraries in Fedora... even Ubuntu has made it difficult. Mint still supports the singe packages: ia32-libs

    I need a boot disc...

So why doesn't your UEFI support send updates to Linux Kernel developers? What about Mac UEFI updates? Are they expected to use Windows too?

Lenovo IdeaPad isn't a good idea

So do you think other manufacturer's are taking a similar route to make computers less expensive? This was the first computer that would not boot to Linux... Its rare when a computer doesn't boot to live USB either... Linux is compatible with 32-bit UEFI, but I couldn't make the necessary...

    New CPU

I noticed the newer video cards GTX 1060 have a single fan that stops when its not in use, then spins up when the GPU gets hot. I've never seen this before... in the past all of my video cards had a fan that spun continuously. Maybe there is a setting in Nvidia drivers to adjust fan speeds?

    Mint Upgrade

Whenever I get warnings of packages being overwritten or removed, I just click "Yes" to all of them. I don't fully understand them all, so I tend to go with the newer version because older packages with a distro update probably has a higher chance of breaking something.
