Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

I've loved the man for years yet it seems my love was lower in importance, but not really less because I loved the rebel in him. I've never heard this one before, you are absolutely right, it's very important, and most excellent. Thank you for stirring it up!!

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Both versions play OK for me. Seems I was mistaken and can't say for certain that I heard castanets in the first iteration. I couldn't play it at full blast because of the hour being late, now I've heard both versions at full volume. My bad!! I think I originally slipped into the "it SHOULD be...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Me neither. I thought dicso (oh dear, did I misspell that?) sucked. The true horror is that I liked the Bee Gees in retrospect, but not their "disco" tunes very much. What's perhaps even more insulting to we people with taste is that "Country" saved Rock. Help me, please! I never thought that...

    The state of our nation

Daniel I support your search and your quest for your enlightenment. Most folks can't do this. For doing so you deserve great respect, and I respect you greatly. I think it's time for me to stop arguing with you about things political. At times you seem to deliberately misunderstand some of my...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

I can easily understand your reaction to Abba. At first I thought the same way. Over the years, and it's been many now I have grown a great appreciation for them. They worked hard for ten tears before "Waterloo" won the Eurovision song competition as "ABBA" in 1974. Their music was remarkable...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

She's a phenomenon! I hope she can grow into herself more with time, I'd dislike it if she peaked so young.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Elvis always made this one sound holy. She certainly starts the work the same way, yet moves into her more accustomed way of handling a tune. I guess I like it, the young lady sure is something else!

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Glad you like it. I thought the lyrics started with "Loving you was the right thing to do" for years. Then I listened more closely, and voila I got them right. The real lyrics make the song much more poignant imho. It's a somewhat biographical work. These can often be the best.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

We sang this as kids but supplied silly and what we thought of as funny lyrics of our own. I had no clue that the song was this serious. Thank you Daniel, I had no idea!

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

I miss PPM a lot. I dissed one of his choices, so it may be My Bad. If so, I APOLOGIZE porporme!! Oh well, it isn't or at least wasn't considered "manly" to talk of physical ailments once upon a time. Unbelievably, the chief surgeon at Seattle's VA did the operation. Nowadays they make a few...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Interesting song, thank you for posting it! The castanets add strong rhythmic support for the tune in a very subdued way. And I can barely hear them. Remarkable.

    The state of our nation

The Republicans had, have, and will have no cure for the Trump. I call out the Democratic Party because they are the only ones in power that could have a cure for Trump. They manifestly have no cure for the Trump. They secretly have too much love for many, many things that Trump has done. I'm...

They saved Seventies and Eighties music, imho.
