I totally forgot something... I've read that sometimes you have to purge for an app to be completely removed.
But I've never attempted this myself. It requires the command prompt... and there is a chance video won't work at all upon reboot. Just a shell. Then you have to manually install...
Interesting... I never backup my systems... just my important files.
Guess I still have that Windows XP habits:
The system is corrupted - Vanilla Install
There is too much fragmentation - Vanilla Install
Too many random files from apps - Vanilla Install
Too many temp files - Vanilla Install...
Yes me as well.
My oldest daughter is using and even older laptop (That huge suitcase one) with Mint 18 on it and she likes it.
I think its too slow, but she's happy with it.
I even offered to run OpenBox desktop environment, but she's happy

Nope didn't forget about wallpapers.
I think there is a folder in your /home that hosts wallpapers if you want them all in one place.
but I like to use my own folder and just...
I've always had to add that PPA if I want newer drivers.
The stable drivers Mint provides are usually older because they are super-stable.
Adding the PPA is a work-around to get any version you want to try. At your own risk of course.
That is why I posted the guide. Its kinda confusing if you...

ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa

Hmm, what version of PlayOnMac are you using? 4.3.4 is the current version.
Maybe you should try an older version like 3.0 or even 2.0
This is always a problem with CD ROM games. I think there is a DRM tied to the CD ROM and the game requires the disk in the drive to play. Sadly...
