    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

No problem. I totally understand. Internet has made life way too complicated. I love computers and games, so I'll be sticking with them for many years to come. I mostly play offline as well. Sometimes I test an MMORPG here and there, but offline is the way I like to go. I'm in no way...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

Good point... that is a HUGE undertaking but once a game is reported a success from enough community tests they should lock-in the Proton version for that game. Specially games that are never updated. Games that are constantly getting updates, development and patched should always be tested with...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

Another downside to Proton... https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/9ops3q/reminder_be_sure_to_retest_your_games_on_proton/ Re-testing thousands of Windows games every time Valve updates the Proton version has to be exhausting. Just like all the AppDB test results. It gets to the...

    Fable: The Lost Chapters Guide

Awesome tip! I've always wondered if running Windows Media Player, VLC or LAV one time will help a game to see the default video codec application.

    Darkened Skye Guide

Yeah, Mint Cinnamon as well. But its getting better. There are time when the Desktop resolution doesn't set back to 1920x1080 when the old game set it to 1280x960 or 800x600. I actually have a script on my desktop that will automatically set the screen back to 1920x1080 because of this reason...

    Myst IV: Revelation Guide

I think they do refunds, but it "should" work. I can walk you through the steps if you like. It should work with all the settings in this guide except for the CD ROM copy and installation. Also, if you purchase Myst IV, make sure to NOT download the Galaxy version. Galaxy is their "steam-ish"...

I didn't realize you were using an ISO. That is probably the problem with mounting disks. I actually have the DVD version for this guide. I've never tested an ISO version... there is probably a way to get it working, but I don't know how. I recommend getting the GOG version over Steam...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

One other problem I have with Lutris, SteamPlay and PlayOnLinux scripts... if something is broken or stops working, all we can do is post the issue and wait for a fix. Meanwhile there are a lot of solutions online on how to fix games. I've seen this over and over in the PlayOnLinux forums...

    NEW STEAM, Windows games, steamplay

I've heard recently that Proton is based on an older version of Wine: 3.7 I also read that with DXVK enabled by default, this can cause issues with Direct X 9 games. So I will continue testing Direct X 9 games in PlayOnLinux and posting step-by-step guides just in case they don't run in...

Thank you for taking the time to research and trial-n-error this problem. Have you already tried installing from scratch? Its critical that when you remove a disk, make sure to unmount it first. Otherwise, Wine will think the wrong disk is in the drive. There definitely shouldn't be two disks...
