    Myst IV: Revelation Guide

Yeah, let me know if a different version can handle the Disks better. This has always been a problem with Linux and Wine. I'm testing 3 older games that are on CD ROM and one of them refused to see the second disk. So I had to go into the Drives Tab and set it up. That was the only way to...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

I just remembered... the first game I tested was Torchlight 1 in SteamPlay. It worked perfectly. So there is a chance some Direct X 9 games will still run. At this point all I can do is keep making guides to prove that games will run in Linux with PlayOnLinux and Wine. There are other...

    Warframe: Game Guide

Awesome! Thank you tuxtergames Apparently there is a --firstrun flag as well. I will try both commands to see what is going on... Also, in that thread, the problem was a 32-bit Wine when Warframe is 64-bit. How do I select a 64-bit Proton in Steam? There isn't really an option for that.

Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn Guide

Hmm, strange... so you don't see a Volition folder? Yes you can create it, but if its not there, it probably didn't install correctly. Can you play it in the original resolution? 800x600 Maybe the game has to be launched one time for the Volition folder to populate.

    Dragon Age Origins Guide

Very nice! So strange that Physx needed linked libraries for libodbc.so.1 when that is a Linux library not a Windows one. Thanks for your post!

    Myst IV: Revelation Guide

You already copied all of the data from both disks into a folder on your desktop correct? Also, try downloading a newer version of Wine. 1.7.7 is pretty old. I suggest using the Wine Manager in the Tools menu and download the 32-bit version of Wine 3.0 or 3.0.3 Those will probably handle the...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

Yeah I was surprised as well. Valve is forking Wine to make Proton so all the normal Wine features are there, but as soon as you add the over-rides and DLLs, expect issues with Direct X 9 games. Maybe they will adjust the script for DX9 compatibility and it will use a different version of Wine...

    Linux Game Review: Fantasy Strike

We were recently given a Steam key to trial Fantasy Strike: https://store.steampowered.com/app/390560/Fantasy_Strike/ http://www.fantasystrike.com When I was younger I used to play more Fighting games with friends. Games like: Mortal Kombat Street Fighter Darkstalkers Samurai Showdown Tekken...

    Warframe: Game Guide

I wonder if I should try again with PlayOnLinux and DXVK? I never used the GloriousEgroll script, because I didn't understand what to do with it? Now I kinda understand. Previously I was able to launch the Warframe Launcher and sign in. Once I was able to run it with staging Wine and the game...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

I completely agree. For us, its a waiting game. I just recently found out that Proton doesn't support Direct X 9 titles. For some reason I assumed that Proton supported all Direct X versions like stable Wine does. Looks like the overrides and libraries for DX10/11 are already set in Proton...

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

I've had several conversations with the developer and their moderators. PlayOnLinux was never meant to be a manual installation process. They want their scripts to handle every game and program. This was a great plan, but considering the number of games and applications... its impossible...

    Warframe: Game Guide

I tried again this morning and still no go The reason Launcher.sh even started working is because I removed all of those Launch Options Not sure why it never launches Sorry I'm being such a baby about this. I've already given up on Warframe before... this was my last hope.

    Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5 Alpha Release

I know its only an Alpha release, but it also took several years. Still not the end-of-the-world because I think its only a single developer working on it. Its better to take your time, than rush through it and make a lot of mistakes. I hope they eventually add the functionality of changing...

    Myst IV: Revelation Guide

Normally if the game has several disks, I will copy all the data to a folder on the desktop and install it from there. I'll also keep the "play" disk in the drive to allow the DRM to work when you launch the game. If it isn't seeing the Disk, make sure to eject (unmount) the disk properly...
