    Quake Wars Guide

Quake Wars follows the tradition of the original Enemy Territory based on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Team Objective-based tournaments where you follow a campaign and complete goals to win the map. Amazing vehicular warfare, mutiple classes, all the eye candy you want and a native Linux...

I had a rule in Gmail that "starred" all emails from gamersonlinux.com I deleted it, lets see if that fixes the problem

Notification of replies to your threads

I'm still not getting all of my notifications. I check the site every day and click "new posts" to see the new replies. But I don't get those via email. Not sure why. They aren't in my junk folder either.

    Portal 2

Then I will be the first to try it! :D Have fun in class! I plan to do the cooperative campaign myself as well. I loved the first Portal.

    Portal 2

Awesome! Please keep up informed on your findings. Ironically I havn't played it yet. Its on my list of Games-to-play. Now that its Linux compatible, I'll be trying it on Linux first. I do have an interesting question: I normally backup my Steam games by copying the game files from...

Steam Bridge (Windows games & Wine?)

We'll see in time. As Wine improves I can see all games running in Linux perfectly... but the question is: How long will that take? Since Valve is dedicated to Linux development, maybe they will find some solutions for their Windows games... Might as well, then more gamers will move to Linux...

    Quake 4 Guide

Quake 3 huh? I honestly didn't really get into it because there was no singleplayer. It was all multi-player based and nothing but bots for me. I'm not much into multi-player games. They can be fun, but usually the 12 year old kid frags me to kingdom come before I can even get a weapon. I...

Steam Bridge (Windows games & Wine?)

Bridge Windows games with Wine in the native Linux Steam: SteamBridge This sounds exactly like PlayOnLinux & Crossover front end for Wine... But can they make up for lost time that PlayOnLinux has already proven successful? Its a great idea, but they admit there isn't full permission from...

    Quest for Glory 5 Guide

What a cool feature, importing your character from the previous game! I really like the backgrounds because they are rendered in 3D and look very nice even though its really a 2D image. They did a good job. Kinda like Alone in the Dark series

    Quest for Glory 5 Guide

It appears most of the game is rendered in 3D... is this correct? That last screenshot look like fighting... I thought this was a point-n-click adventure...

    Quake 4 Guide

Its totally superior in just about every way. Once again Raven used something id Software created and made it better. They did it with Hexen and Hexen II.

    League of Legends Guide

I know how to copy game files in Steam, but with other clients the game files can go in different places at different times. So its hard to back them up and install again. Kinda frustrating.

    Quake 4 Guide

Great! Thanks for the tip! Ever since I set Mint to share audio with Pulse and Alsa, most of my audio problems have disappeared. I'm at least 5 hours into Quake 4 and loving it! Honestly, I never had a chance to play it until now. I always expected a Doom 3 clone, but its much much better!

    League of Legends Guide

Oh, looks like you have an Intel HD 3000 on your laptop. That is bad news for Linux. I have a Chromebook with an HD 2000 and it plays some games, mostly older ones like Half-Life, Lugaru, Torchlight, but none of the newer games. I have a feeling the drivers are fine for Windows, but in Linux we...

    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

Good question... I'm not totally sure. Might as well try the Xserver-xorg-video-ati, but I have no idea if it will show improvement or not. This is a very common gripe with AMD and their Linux drivers. I'm glad that I have Nvidia

    League of Legends Guide

Before Linux? So you mean in Windows correct? What other games have you played in Linux? I'm just checking because there are a few dependencies required to play games like proprietary drivers, 32-bit libraries, proper setup for PlayOnLinux.
