    I just realized you posted this in Crossover forum. Are you using Crossover for Unreal Tournament?

    Yeah, I started out with CrossOver, but I was having a similar issue even under Crossover (game would randomly fail to start). I could eventually get it to start by doing some magic mystic combo of start/crash/reboot-windows. If I persevered, eventually it would come up.

    Yeah, the newer Wine versions all puke their guts out, or behave like Crossover. I suspect the only reason the Wine version I am using actually works is because of the POL scripts though.

    Like DJ would say... Scripts can be made for any manual install, but I would say any script can be replaced with a manual installation.

    Lets check out that script and see how we can manually install it the same way, but using a newer version of Wine.
