    Mint is introducing "Time shift" the means to Auto back-up by the hour day week month anything you like!! Set up is a bit mystifying at first, at lest for me, but you will quickly catch on !

    **You know how some proggy's windows hit the desktop to small to read and can't be enlarged...I'm looking at you POL!

    Well that's done with! It's now adjustable so you can actually read it!

    The usual new background pics,themes and settings.

    Before I crash and burn I feel obligated to say it seems really stable, especially for a Beta release.
    I'm having a real good time.

    I know what your thinking,
    "aren't you afraid that you are going to regret this when Mint 19 goes into final release and everyone but you is busy installing the upgrade?

    No. I'll just up grade to final release. Yes Mint said I could!":O}

    ** Alas this turns out not to be universally true. POL is bigger but others remain a PITAS, to small to read without leaving nose prints on your monitor

    Boy! This is a big leap for Mint. System update has been co-opted by Time shift, or rather integrated.
    With a clean install mint want you to do the following..In Order!

    after a week I've yet to find a single flaw.If I weren't already using it, I'd be looking forward to using it. A very nice upgrade.

    As rules go this is a wise one George. Take what Mint gives you and wait until mint gives it to you.
    Here's how one may safely Jump the gun so to speak.

    Step 1. Be absolutely sure you have a good back up. For this you need an
    extra drive capable of holding at least one back-up, preferably several back-ups'
    and Clonezilla.

    There is no step 2.

    If your backed up you can behave in a lunatic fashion and get well in a 1/2vhour.
    I know this as I have run with Lunacy and half assed guess work more times than I can count.

    The only real drawback with going Beta is that one must install from scratch.
    However once installed Mint Tara (Beta) will be updated/upgraded when the finale release comes out.

    I just like exploring the NEW! ":O}

    In my mind Mint has really out done itself with Tara. Once Everyone updates,...they will see and know the difference.":O}
