    Hey folks,
Has anyone here played Rust? It's a survival shooter, currently in early access, heavily influenced by DayZ and Minecraft.

They're doing a Linux port, but I'm having problems getting it running and playable. It freezes when I look too far in any direction and I can only unfreeze it by alt-tabbing out and back in. I tried running the Windows version through wine but I just get a segfault :(

Anyway, it looks great and I just wondered if anyone else had more luck playing it than me!

    Cheers.

I didn't have a chance to try it out yet...
Do we have to sign up for the alpha, or is it public?

Alt+Tab is strange for mouse behavior.
I wonder if its a window problem with the game and your distro.
Do they have a forum where you can post issues?

This guy has posted on his Youtube channel a video with a few tips but I have no idea if they are related to your issues.
Maybe we should wait a little for a more stable version?
By the way, welcome to this forum!

@booman: If I am not mistaken this is an Early Access Game, which you can buy like any other regular title on Steam, and right now is the best selling game on the platform.

    I'll pass then...
But I'm sure there is a forum on Steampowered for Rust where you can post your bugs.

Seems to be working okay now. I guess they must have fixed it over the last few days.

Looks like this game has some potential.
