Jimmie Vaughan is using a Matchless amplifier, very interesting. They are very rare and very well respected. I think BB King got better as he aged, kudos to him. Personally, other than BB's own take on his own song, I liked Robert Cray's playing the best, Clapton is overplaying the song, but in fairness, that's probably what he was supposed to do, be himself.

This is a new version to me, thank you for posting it.

I was fortunate to have seen Mr King perform "The Thrill Is Gone" live at least twice. Both times at Winterland in SFO.
Those were the days, the tickets were $10 or even less. Met Bill Graham at least twice, both times 'cause I was complaining that the front door security had the unmitigated gall to confiscate a half gallon of wine from my under aged self. The noive!
He was quite civil, but firm. I guess he earned his reputation of being hard to get along with over the years, but he was very polite to me. Used to pass "Tara-Lara," the estate where he lived in Corte Madera CA while driving or hitchhiking many a time.

One night very late I walked past Tara-Lara. I paused to grab the vibe from the place. It became crystal clear after perhaps two minutes. A watch animal, not sure if it was a black dog or a very large (clearly not a house cat) appeared very quietly but very rapid in its movement on his or her side of the fence. "Happy to move along" I beamed silently to the silent guard animal, and did so.

I'll never know what kind of four legged beast was guarding Mr Graham's property. It was a creature that scared me to the bone.

Thus ends a slice of personal history. My, that was long ago.

That quote from The Great Bard works just as well for the female half of this extremely lucky human race.

"The Coneheads" (1993) was a surprisingly good movie. Only a 5.3 rating from IMDb but I give it a 6.5.

Hilarious in a bizarre way. That Dick--can't say we didn't know ye. And all too well.

It's the steel guitar and/or perhaps the regular electric guitar hook that make it stick in the mind. Wonder if that is his given name? If so, what else could he do than music or Hollywood?

Dang it, I can't remember the exact song from memory lane that I'm searching for. Wouldn't it be nice if Youtube could "read your mind" to find the exact oldie you are looking for? Maybe not?
Here's one that I found along the way. C'mon haid don't fail me forever, puhleeze!

Yes...but not with affection. That song chased me all over San Diego and never did tell me what it wanted!
