    Installing Guild Wars 2

That's weird... I didn't get bad performance when I was playing I'm not sure if I ever did a guide and provided the binaries I was using as I'm pretty sure I made a few edits to WINE. Of course if there was a LOT of people things would get pretty shaky. Overall though one should be able...

Need advice Distro needed, no gaming needed.

I've experienced crashes with nouveau drivers + nvidia card to the point of a system freeze since it occurs at the driver level, personally I would just advice to use stable nvidia drivers. The good part however is that most modern Ubuntu systems comes with a tool called "ubuntu-drivers" (made a...

Need advice Distro needed, no gaming needed.

For KDE Kubuntu is your best bet, honestly if you put it like that any distro is good as the requirements can by done by any distro. But yea, go for Kubuntu. Linux Mint is also great, you don't have to play with it.

Stuck on "please wait while the virtual drive is being created"

Run playonlinux from your terminal... although something tells me that the reason it's stuck there is because PoL is downloading something it needs. And for League of Legends you need a LOT of things to install. Unless they have fixed LoL on WINE, it might be harsh from me but you are better...

How To Organize Your Steam Games with PlayOnLinux

Hey @ZZrabbit sorry for the super late reply, if you haven't been able to solve the problem could you describe which part is confusing you? There's plenty of symlinks going on... hard to know which one to explain :[

    Is this normal?

This is completely normal. Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, they also have a Debian derivative called Linux Mint Debian Edition. Ubuntu is also based on Debian itself, with the exception that Ubuntu is a semi-rolling distribution, meaning they continuously keep handing minor updates and security...

    Games on i3 Arch Linux

Didn't mean it as a bad thing haha. By all means go ahead, people should always try new things than being reclusive of choices. Sometimes it can really impact your productivity or brings new workflows. In terms of experimenting with DEs I think I'm done, haha. I'm waiting for GNOME 3 to keep...

    Games on i3 Arch Linux

I think @Daerandin uses tiling wm? I'm no tiling wm user, never understood the hype about it besides "saving resources". I'm a happy camper with KDE or GNOME 3. I could foresee a problem on how a window manager manages the application. Example, Ubuntu can't run GW2 without it permanently...

    Sound Problem

I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding Cronyk, no offense. Cronyk, if you speak spanish I'm all ears as it's my native language as well.

    How's it going?

Hence what I said "it's just a means to an end". I feel the same and I'm not even at the stage to call myself a seasoned programmer. Anyone, including me, would love to work on really cool projects. Does having a "normal" job makes you less of a programmer? Not really. I know a lot of people...

Why We Want Native Ports Only (Gaming On Linux)

Haha, well on my part I'm out of productive feedback. I would love to see it with fresh eyes; the whole "WINE can't co-exist with native games" is tired already. You say educate, I'd say "recruit"; just not in a positive way. But alas, I'm not going to be cynical all the way. Enjoy the games...

Why We Want Native Ports Only (Gaming On Linux)

They are still on that? r/linux_gaming have discussed it aplenty. It ends up rather divisive on people being okay having WINE ports (like me) and people who wants native-only. This subject has been beaten to death. I'm not sure what to make of the article besides if they wanted to increase the...

    How's it going?

Hmm? Same can be said on any professional field though... things like that doesn't worry me at all, haha. Thing is, if you go to subreddits like r/programming you just get the idea that developers just dislikes on other developers (further reading to get a glimpse). In general it is just a means...

You can leave Cinnamon, if you are using a modern distribution (with systemd): Simply type: sudo systemctl stop pulseaudio sudo systemctl disable pulseaudio (reboot) Not that there won't be any sound if some programs have exclusively used Pulseaudio as the default audio driver with no...

    How's it going?

They still use Windows XP there? I hope they aren't paying for the updates because the cost of maintaining a unsupported OS is INSANE. Sometimes I wonder why they don't just hire developers to write the program cloning the features/etc. As an example? The U.S Navy paid $9 million just for a year...
