    Installing Resident Evil 5!

I'm surprised it can't handle Linux, normally Linux can run on most laptops. I have some old ones as well and have been able to run Live disc with distros like Fedora and Mint. There are some boot options to run on those old video chips.

    Installing Resident Evil 5!

It depends on if the game needs the DVD in the drive or not. Most DVD games require the DVD in the drive, so you would have to leave it mounted. If ResEvil5 doesn't require it, then unmount and delete the ISO As for renaming your account, I'm not sure how to do that. Check your preferences To...

    Talisman: Digital Edition Guide

Ok, sounds like you have everything setup correctly. Its probably not driver related because some of those games would have problems as well. Can you post the debug here: http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/forums/playonlinux.9/

    Installing Resident Evil 5!

Interesting, I've never done an "upgrade" except for Mint 16 to 17 The reason is because I still don't fully understand Linux file structure and what is left behind. Instead of leaving all of those unused files/folders and programs I installed (but don't use anymore), I just do a fresh install...

    Myst III: Exile Guide

I always hesitate when "merging" folders or overwriting files. You never know what its going to do. The technical way would be to copy the Disk folder only, but I wanted to make the guide as easy-as-possible. So merging and replacing worked. Unfortunately there was no way to play without the...

    Talisman: Digital Edition Guide

Welcome to the forums. Are you able to play any other games in Manjaro? Do you have the 32-bit libraries installed?

    Installing Resident Evil 5!

If you do a fresh install with a USB Flash Drive or DVD, Linux will erase your hard drive and install Its-self on it. This means you will have to install your games, programs, drivers, etc all over again. This is why the Upgrade via Software Manager is preferred, but there can be problems with...

    Dedicated Game Server

Turns out Left4Dead 2 also has an 8 player "versus" mode As long as you aren't hosting games for 32-64 players online, running a dedicated server really isn't necessary. Or if the game doesn't have a built-in listen server. Almost all Valve games have a listenserver and you can host the game on...

    Installing Resident Evil 5!

There might be problems, just expect them and then research how to fix it. I did an upgrade via internet from Mint 16 to Mint 17 and everything ran great. But there are benefits to clean installation as well. I was asking because if you do a fresh install, you will need those 32-bit libraries...

Download the 4.2.6 version from their download page: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html Select the installer for your distribution I use Mint, so I downloaded the Ubuntu Deb file and double-clicked to install It does the update perfectly without having to remove the old version. I...

    Steam Box Build $388.00

My server has 3 Terabytes of storage, but my desktops are 250GB or smaller When you have 9 computers it gets expensive to upgrade them all :D But since I've noticed a lot of cheap WD hard drives on newegg.com, maybe I'll do some upgrading soon

    Steam Box Build $388.00

Good point! I'm glad the BIOS lets you choose between integrated or discrete. I knew about possible memory errors in any stick, but I rarely have any from Corsair in over 12 years of building my own computers. I really wanted to put an SSD drive in this box, but too expensive. I couldn't...

    Steam Box Build $388.00

Not bad I chose a Gigabyte motherboard because it was cheaper than ASUS, even though I prefer ASUS any day. I've had a few Gigabyte motherboards and they run fine. I love Corsair Memory! Always used it and always will. I've only ever had one experience with a bad stick, they replaced it for...

    Installing Resident Evil 5!

Ubuntu made changes to the ia32-libs packages so you can't download them all at once anymore. Really sucks because it was so easy in the past. Mint continues to support these packages. If you are not using proprietary drivers in Ubuntu 14, then I'm pretty sure that is going to be a problem...

    League of Legends Guide

I have not seen any trends for improving frame rates with Wine. 40-60 fps should be fine for gameplay in any game anyways. I'm happy to get 30 fps in most game.
