Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

So glad you find this song pleasing! The reverb guitar chord at roughly 31 seconds into the song(it's repeated as well) is pure genius, imo.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Marvin Gaye's landmark LP. This song brought race relations in the US Army ahead by thirty years.

One of the best Mac songs, imho.

Certainly new to me, thank you Daniel. Dunno if that's a harmonium or accordion or both.

Only the most insulated from popular "culture." I most certainly sang along with this tune.

It's great that you met him, I'm glad that you liked each other. Jfsg, (just for poops and grins) snowblind pertains to cocaine. I agree, these violins nearer to the end of the song are a REAL insult.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Thought that this is most definitely worth a re-post. Along with the original, why would anyone else bother to "give" us THEIR version? Can't get better than this, again, imho.

Attacking one of the true greats, sure the lyrics COULD read like this post claims. Ha ha! B-b-but...

Thank you for posting these three, PPM! Off topic, but perhaps interesting, European popular music was so behind the times in 1964... glad they finally at least tried to catch up with the Anglophone world.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

There's nothing amiss with Peter Green's version. But after a zillion years of hearing Santana performing it, I think he sorta owns it now.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Thanks for breaking the ice with Fleetwood Mac, ppm! This group was something to behold. I was dimly aware of them before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks became part of them. They are now among my top ten choices of all time.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

This is a very good song. Thank you for posting it, Daniel! Funny, I have the same bass that the young whippersnapper in this video plays. But she plays it about two light years better than I do. Humbling. And as a bass player, all of that high pitched yammering that exudes from electric guitars...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Who knew? That son of a gun sure sings better than I do, oh the ignominy. Thank you porporme, I needed a bit of humbling. What a find!

Apology noted, yet I'm sure it doesn't bother her! Othello is almost at the center of that great state of Washington. Hmm. Beginning to doubt the need for this post. My bad. Again.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

We all slip in our spelling sometimes, I knew she was Mareen. The best GF I was ever lucky enough to have was an ex-Marine. She wasn't a BAM, either. This can be interpreted as "Bad Assed Marine," or "Broad Assed Marine." She was a just a hint of the former and none of the latter!

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

I gotta say, Carrie Underwood becomes more magnetically attractive as she ages. That's very difficult for most women to pull off! This straight rock song is a good one. You go girl. Good choice, thank you PPM!
