Divinity 2 - The Dragon Knight Saga

Awesome! Great troubleshooting skills. That is the way I handle most game. Some require different libraries, clients or graphics settings. As long as its Direct X 9 compatible, it should run. How does it run on your video card? Enjoy!

Not all updates can be installed - Ubuntu 14.04 lts

I'm honestly not sure at this point. My Mint 17 is based on Ubuntu 14 and I've updated on a regular basis and even upgraded to 17.2 and 17.3 I've never had problems with updates. Try rebooting, or installing them one at a time

Thinking about purchasing my first game on steam for Linux

What?? Then time to yank a video card from their systems. :D Seriously, if you have a spare $100.00 you can get a decent GeForce card and Linux gaming will be a LOT happier. I just purchased a GeForce 750 Ti for about $120.00 and it came with a $20.00 rebate This card doesn't require a power...

    Farcry Help!

Not that I remember. IE was only necessary for some MMO's or Online multi-player games because the launcher was HTML based. Are you installing the GOG Far Cry or Retail (boxed) version?

Will someone one tell me why?

Wow! You broke 3 ribs trying to get your USB drive? You are dedicated! I would have probably just yanked it by the power cord or USB cord instead of climbing over the dresser.

    AMD Video Cards to Trade

I happen to have 3 AMD video cards that I need to get rid of. Unfortunately they are in an interesting condition... Sapphire Tri-X Radeon R9 290X - I can't verify if it works because it requires a 750 watt power supply which I don't have. I tested with a 500 watt and got BIOS beep errors and...

I don't use an anti-virus. The only time you would need one is if you are downloading files via internet and sharing them with Windows users. I don't particularly do that, but I've yet to find my Mint infected with anything.

Well, their job is to protect us and my boss configures it well. So I'm not going to ask him to open a port just for my gaming needs ;)

Not all updates can be installed - Ubuntu 14.04 lts

You may want to try the Disk Utility and scan for errors. It may not be the hard drive at all. Your old drive may still work. There could be something wrong with your laptop controller or Memory. Also, allowing Ubuntu to sleep could cause some disk read errors What laptop do you have again?
