Far Cry is running almost flawlessly! What an awesome game! Way before its time! Took me a few installs but got it to run with OpenGL and almost all the video settings on Very High. I got it to run at 1440x900 resolution with a very good frame rate.

Exactly! The only reason I install Wine the first time is to just have it and the respective directories. Otherwise, I use PlayOnLinux for all the Wine testing. PlayOnLinux ROCKS!!!

This Logitech F310 looks like the controller to get. I did some research and people are getting positive results with Ubuntu. No installation, no drivers, no configuration. Just make sure to set the switch on the back to "X"

this controller is pretty cool, I can even browse the internet with it. You would probably need an "on screen" keyboard to type, which of course Linux has, but otherwise installing and launching games would be easy too.
