HA! I beat it's stupid ASS!! LOL I reinstalled and gave my entire hard drive to ROOT. Then I just booted to root and treated it like my usual install Works fine with just a few minor differences. I deleted my Home Dir inside Root as there was no point to having to open Root, Home, Daniel...

True confessions time...One of the reasons (and a Big one at that) That I install so many distros is simply so I don't forget how during the long lulls between new releases, I do enjoy it for the most part, but mostly it just keeps me on my toes...when your as bad at theses things as I am you...

"gksu caja" will get me access to my drives in Root. But when I try to transfer music or browser settings it tries to load them in the root partition and runs out of space on a nearly empty drive... earning itself a two thumbs down from me....this is the dumbest distro I've worked with to date...

Make that 4 installs...Still no go accessing external drives, not even a USB thumbdrive... Darned if I can even guess what's going on...

I think I'm going to try disconnecting all my drives except the install drive,, seems counter intuitive to me but what the hell! LOL

At lest you were able to run it down and provide a cure...When Grub goes wrong for me that's it, I have to reinstall...is why I just use F8 and let my Bois load the drive I want..

By any chance did you change your drive order ie connect SDA to where SDB use to be, switching drive connections has screwed me in the past. Other that this I've never figured out why Grub craps out on me...sigh
