Thanks for posting Divintiy: Original Sin
Looks like a really good game. For some reason I'm not as enthusiastic about turn-based fighting. But I love the graphics and cooperative gameplay.
Ugh, the frustrations of upgrading. I don't get stuff like that either. When I used Mint 13, I never had audio problems... ever!
But since I tried Mint 14, Mint 16 and Mint 17, I still get "buffer underrun" errors and crackling sounds here and there.
So strange...
ditto ditto ditto
I'm eventually going to start testing programs in Wine to see how well they work. There is a lot of demand for Office in the PlayOnLinux forums, so maybe I'll start there. The only problem is that I won't be able to purchase any of them. Hopefully I can get a copy of...
I know they still have a ways to go, so I'm not criticizing them at all. Just can't wait to grab rocks, push sand around and create whirlwinds.
Kinda like Magicka, but even more immersive!
I know the animation and levels still look kinda amateur, but action looks amazing!
I backed these guys on Kickstarter, so I can't wait to fling around some flaming boulders
You can try, but I know those hardcore Linux guys... stubborn they are
Which is kinda ironic because Linux is about freedom so you can try new things.
Normally stubborn people won't try new things...
Not really sure how it works for them?
Yes, the crackling has to be Pulseaudio and Alsa. I've experienced this many times. Some games do it and others don't
Very frustrating.
There is a setting in the Pulseaudio config that should help
Try this:
Open /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
Update this line: default-fragment-size-msec = 10
To...
Wow, that really sucks! :( Now my 8800's and 9800's will no longer be updated.
I have 6 gaming computers and definitely can't afford new cards.
Hopefully this won't destroy my Linux hopes for the future...
What happens when I use the newest Mint and have an old video card?
Will "Driver Manager"...
Thanks for the encouragement! I love showing the world that most PC games actually DO run in Linux. So we don't need to be afraid of being stuck in Windows anymore.
That win:GetWindowPlacement not supported errors seems to be related. Not like there is anything we can do about it.
But did you already try adding:
comctl32
ddrawex
gdiplus
Like in that post?
I just wonder if there is some missing library? The debug would tell us though... so not sure where...
I would say "merge all" and "replace all"
Its really hard to tell which files are needed and which aren't.
If the installer has a problem, just copy the data again off the CD's
I've had success and failure either way.
Normally files like autorun are on both disks. So we don't care if its there...
Sometimes Magrunner will launch but I don't see anything other than the desktop.
I can hear the logo sounds, but nothing on the screen.
I have to Alt+Tab to get the game to maximize
I have seen this bug before. Try this:
Eject the CD ROM by right clicking the icon on the desktop
Enter CD 2
Wait for the icon to appear
Open CD 2
Copy all data to same folder on your Desktop
I've had this problem many times. If you just press the button on the CD ROM to open the drive...
Is the freezing random or consistent? Like does it freeze when opening a menu, or doing a keyboard combination?
I see why the youtube video recommended 1000x615 resolution... because the screen gets cut off. Not sure why. I've never seen this problem before with the virtual desktop. It may...
