MMORPG's that run well on POL ?

Drakensang and Spiral Knights are top-down RPGs and totally free. Both are low spec requirements and run on just about anything.

    Champions Online Guide

Hmm, I've seen this before in certain games. I was able to change resolution just fine What video card/chip are you using? I'm sure you have virtual desktop enabled as my guide specifies that, but maybe try disabling it... Which settings did you change when it crashed? Did you turn off streaming?

Yeah, that would be awesome to have more of the AOA gang here! George, do you have any really specific programs you "need" to use that might be Windows dependent?

Very good points! I've come to not like Ubuntu's Unity Desktop because it is very sluggish on older systems with integrated video chipsets. The only fallback is Unity 2D which is nothing like Unity 3D. Mint Cinnamon seems to run on anything... old servers, old laptops, Chromebooks, you name it

    Dead Frontier MMORPG Guide

When I first did all of the Pipelight commands and did the Firefox override stuff, there was nothing for Unity in the Add-ons/Plugins area So I closed Firefox and run the Pipelight commands again When I went back to Firefox there it was! So make sure Unity 3D Player is in the plugins area in...

    Spiral Knights Guide

Ok, good. I may have to update my guide When I first downloaded the .bin file, I double-clicked and Mint asked me if I wanted to make it "executable" Basically sudo chmod +x spiral-install.bin In Mint you can also right-click the .bin and click the Permissions tab. You can check "make executable"

Agreed! Thank you for researching this problem. No one else has provided a solution yet! I hope that Wine developers are working on it, because browsing, purchasing and downloading games is important in Steam

The easiest/cheapest way is to go to Walmart and pick up a 4 GB or 8 GB flash drive. If you are still using Windows then use the above HP USB tool to format the flash drive. Then download the distro you want to use and use Universal USB tool to install it. Most of the popular distro's have a...

    Dead Frontier MMORPG Guide

I tried the Stand Alone version... It installs just fine, but when it tries to contact the server it crashes and loads up a browser to their website. I logged into the website with Chromium and then tried launching again with PlayOnLinux, but same thing. Not sure what the problems is?

    Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall Guide

Not to mention "Free Classic" I found there are a bunch of fixes and mods to improve the game and there is a Daggerfallsetup.exe that installs everything, but it didn't work for me in PlayOnLinux. I think it bundles DOSbox as well, but running DOSbox in PlayOnLinux/Wine doesn't work. Never has...

    Steamwebhelper.exe Crash

Good point! I never thought of that... I mostly add games via Steampowered.com or in Windows Steam I forgot that free games not-in-your-library have to be navigated to from the Steam store. Specially non native Linux games, hence why you are using Wine

    Installing Guild Wars 2

I was able to install and download the entire game this weekend. It plays decent on my GeForce 550 Ti. The frame rates are pretty low with settings on high, but I got decent frame rates with shaders on low and anti-aliasing on FSAA Also try turning down other settings Try turning off streaming...
