    Fallout 3 Guide

Ok, at least you can play it. I don't remember a lot of water quests anyways. I guess steer clear of water for now. I've never messed with X Server Settings, but you can try messing with Nvidia 3D settings for your card.

    Batman: Arkham Knight June 23rd

I haven't been very impressed with Warner Brother's releases recently. Also, they will shut down almost any mod that had Lord Of the Rings in it

DirectX 11 is coming to Linux thanks to CodeWeavers and Wine

Thanks to Valve we are getting more "mainstream" I even saw this article on Unity 3D Editor in Linux: http://blogs.unity3d.com/2015/07/01/the-state-of-unity-on-linux/

DirectX 11 is coming to Linux thanks to CodeWeavers and Wine

Its really two sided... They make more wrapped ports like Bioshock Infinite & The Witcher 2 or we wait for companies to port them native last. Some companies might consider a wrapper or no porting at all. If there is no chance of a port then I don't mind Wine or wrappers. Most of my games...

League is almost my life! <:C

Thanks I'm good for now When I decide to go Linux across-the-board then I'll be posting my problems. 6 different motherboards, audio chips, video cards... definitely going to have problems I'm still going to wait for stable Wine 1.8, $$ to upgrade the video cards and hard drives.

    How's it going?

Exactly... even though I'm focusing all of my efforts on Linux at home, I still have a lot of Windows knowledge. People ARE difficult, but I've been blessed with an immense patience and can deal with them respectably. I just love playing with computers all day.

    How's it going?

Actually I just finished upgrading everyone to Windows 7.... FINALLY! :( As of February 2015 we were all still Windows XP. Pretty sad.. I know But many of our proprietary software still requires Java 1.5, Internet Explorer 8, and Server 2003.

    How's it going?

Its actually quite ironic that I'm working in the Newspaper industry... I got this job because I was already working as an artist (on MAC) and there was an IT position open I was hired on-the-spot during the interview because of my part-time experience with Server 2003, Windows XP and playing...

    How's it going?

Sometimes I wonder if they are just "sweat shops" Hundreds of employees working 14 hours a day on a game that costs millions of dollars. Just like the movie industry. Look how many bad movies are published every week.

    Porting Dying Light to Linux

That must be the main problem, short-sighted company owners who only see money. Windows = $$$ DirectX = $$$ They follow the money and if there isn't as much in multi-platform, then there is no reason to follow it. I'm just stating this from speculation of course. It really seems Projekt Red...

    How's it going?

All the CAD, Sketchup, System Admin experience I have is from working. Day-to-day on-the-job work. Pay me to learn and I'll learn it all. Why can't businesses learn that? Even if I have experience, every company has different workflow. So I'll still have to learn. At the same time I don't...

    Porting Dying Light to Linux

I agree, but I'm sure the big CEO's like to count the pennies ;) When Valve is doing it for every game, none of the other big companies have an excuse anymore. If they take a risk like Valve, then we all win! Instead they are going to wait and see how well Valve does with Steam Machines. I...

League is almost my life! <:C

I'm using an old ASUS P5N32 SLI Plus It has an PCIe 4x expansion audio card. I had a SoundBlaster Audigy in it, but Pulse and Alsa were fighting. Every time I made an config change sound would either stop, or pound my CPU. So I took out the SB card and just used the ASUS card, now its working...

League is almost my life! <:C

Ok, I got it.. For the most part its only frustrating with a new Mint installation and playing Wine games. Everything else works fine. Once I play with it and Wine, then it seems to be happy. I think my main problem was the SoundBlaster expansion card.

So are you saying when I update Pulseaudio will automatically be installed again? I use Openbox as well, for some games.

    Porting Dying Light to Linux

It must be a money game. Big studios invest way more money in a single game than an indie team, so they don't see the benefit of spending more money on such a small audience. But the indie developers know they will get more exposure by mentioning all platforms. For indies its about exposure...

    Batman: Arkham Knight June 23rd

obviously the "testing phase" was neglected. Any studio knows they should test their game on all kinds of hardware and drivers. It shouldn't have been so bad that they needed to pull the game from retail shelves. That looks bad for their name and PC gaming in general
