    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

The problem is Arc in Wine. If Arc ran properly you would be able to search for games and then install them, but that currently doesn't work. Arc will install one game at a time as long as you launch the exe from the games website. I have been able to install Star Trek and Neverwinter this...

anyone ever have any luck with SWTOR?

Ooo, server huh? Have you tried running dedicated server in Linux? I have been doing it for years. You just reminded me that I need to do a Guide on setting up dedicated server in Linux.

    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

Good idea. Its hard to tell if Wine needs to address the default browsing situation or if its the game developers. I'm sure by now developers have stopped making interfaces for IE only, but I'm sure they are all IE compatible, but also Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc Check this out: Gecko...

anyone ever have any luck with SWTOR?

You are my kind of gamer! I do the exact same thing. I'll still play MMO's by myself or my 5 yr old daughter will play with me. I don't mind joining up with a group from time to time, because I have a hard time progressing by myself. Like in Drakensang... there is no way I would ever beat those...

    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

What a pain! Geesh... I've tried installing Firefox in a virtual drive, but there is no way to make it the default browser. It installs and runs fine, but with game clients like Arc, Origins and Uplay, they still look for IE compatibility. I've addressed that a few times on the PlayOnLinux...

Agreed! At least you havn't tried Uplay from UBI soft. All of these large companies are copying Valves business model by creating their own client. But none of them run as good as Steam. I've even had a lot of problems with Steam. Even this weekend Steam would not launch on my Win7 machine. I...

    Raindrop Kickstarter

From mod to stand-alone game, from Source Engine to Unity3D. Raindrop is almost like combining S.T.A.L.K.E.R with Alan Wake. Raindrop Donate to the funding of Raindrop After reading their Kickstarter page, I'm completely amazed at their goals. I'm very shocked that Unity3D can handle that...

    The Dark Mod

I just saw this on Moddb.com Dark Mod goes stand-alone Very cool, now you don't have to install Doom3, but what about Linux? Will their stand-alone engine support Linux?

    The Dark Mod

I've watched The Dark Mod on moddb for years. Kinda slow for my gaming needs, but very nice graphics and story. The community is pretty big too. There are lots of custom maps for Dark Mod. Thanks for reminding me that it runs natively. Can you run a mod as easily as copy/paste files to doom3...

Awesome! I was just having a conversation with someone over in the PlayOnLinux forum about Intel HD drivers.

Cool thanks! I was being lazy and never looked it up. So they are similar it sounds... What is the free-to-play Knights of the Old Republic like?

anyone ever have any luck with SWTOR?

Oh, I didn't realize they were different engines. The games look and play so similar I just assumed both 1 & 2 were using the same engine.

Very strange. I have played it for hours and never had that problem. What resolutions are you running? What video card do you have? Chances are... its a driver problem...

anyone ever have any luck with SWTOR?

OH really? I just posted a Neverwinter Nights 2 Guide in PlayOnLinux. So far I've had a lot of success with PlayOnLinux and Wine. Check out my list of games in Linux: Linux Tests If you are willing to take time troubleshooting, chances are the game will work. One place I always go to check...

    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

Yeah, before Arc you could just install a thinclient and it would download fine. After beta finished, Arc took over. I don't fully understand what Arc is for (besides advertising) but I'm sure they are going to add more games in the future. I'm sure the compatability is with IE8. You'll notice...

    Humble Bundle Oct 2013

Good point! I still run windows on a bunch of my machines, so if it doesn't run in Linux now, I can still play it.... I'm hoping at some point all games will run in Wine.

Thanks Graywolf for posting that fix. Out of curiosity... did you use "virtual desktop" in Wine? Normally resolution isn't a problem with virtual desktop, but I've had a lot of problems not using it.
