Need advice Distro needed, no gaming needed.

Oh, I didn't realize you were buying from a local retail. You will definitely get smaller selection from stores. Even Frys Electronics has a big selection but not as big as newegg.com

    Age Of Wushu Guide

Yes that is very confusing.... It's hard to know what is going on behind the scenes, so watching the terminal or PlayOnLinux debug is the only way. I don't particularly remember a long startup process with Age of Wushu Exactly which screen were you stuck at? I noted that I was getting a pop-up...

The Lord of the Rings Online Guide

That is very strange, I rarely experience resolution problems with virtual desktop. If you don't use it, I have experienced the Linux desktop resolution defaulting when closing the game. So this is pretty common, but not if you set the game to the same resolution as your Linux desktop. You may...

Found a couple of interesting font-related tips on WineHQs: Definitely try that -no-dwrite tip I've used it for a long time with Steam because there would be no fonts at all when launching Steam. You can add the command -no-dwrite in Arguments in PlayOnLinux Configure like this: Just select...

    Daggerfall Remade in Unity

Interesting you should say that... I had a desktop running two 9800's in SLI and Morrowind didn't support it, so all the mods caused it to run waaaay too slow. Now that I have a GeForce 550 Ti, I can run Morrowind and the texture/remodel mods in PlayOnLinux I'm sure it would run if you crank...

Could be, you can always try re-downloading Wine and PlayOnLinux again. I'm not aware of Arch and how it handles libraries. So I am of no help there Please let me know if you get it worked out.

    Wine 1.x not found

Before you go looking for Wine 1.7.8, try using the newer ones first. Specially if you are using Steam and Pulseaudio for sound. 1.7.55-staging now supports Pulseaudio and you don't have to disable the In Game Overlay anymore. I bet Batman will run with that version. As for Skyrim, I honestly...

    Deity Guide

If you aren't totally committed to Arch, you could try Mint or Ubuntu. But you still might have AMD driver problems or open source problems. I wish there was a button to switch to open source or close source on-the-fly. Did you have any success with disabling GLSL?
