I think the Steam version is the only available version right now. The main reason I avoid Steam is because some of the updates can break Wine. I'm sure you have seen it before as we have. I'm worried that if I have too many Steam guides and Valve does an update that breaks them, I will have to...

Good news to hear OpenGL is up to the gaming standards. Its always nice to hear Valve is taking part too. I didn't know E.A. was playing a part in OpenGL development. This is good news for me.

My parents were teachers and could bring Macs home from time to time. so I would try to play Hexen and Doom on Mac. Thats all I had at home before college. Otherwise I was mostly playing Super Nintendo and Playstation :(
