    Dwellings

Tbh, I'm pretty much a hermit. When you're old it's much more difficult to make new friends, I have a small handful for which I am grateful. I stopped being a musician about three years ago, my excuse was that after ten years of working hard at it I realized that I needed another ten years to...

    Dwellings

Weyell--you have lived in a trailer for years, just not a travel trailer. I too would be freaked about the size of your new abode, people should not be forced to inhabit small abodes. But--being homeless is far worse, especially in cool/cold climates. There was a well known song that was about...

To awake upon the morrow...If that's not Shakespear, it must be me!

I don't know if DSL has improved since I got it through my telco. Used to get 1 Mb Down usually--with short periods of almost 2.7 Mb. The Upload bandwidth was always a bad joke. I sincerely hope that it has improved. I get phenomenal Download bandwidth--but it costs me a little short of $170 per...

To awake upon the morrow...If that's not Shakespear, it must be me!

Only The Shadow knows? Sorry, it's off topic but I couldn't resist. Moving definitely grabs your attention for perhaps longer than it should. Especially if you're no Spring duck any more. Love how loud Mallards are when they want to be heard. And they can sound sarcastic as well. Amazing.

    Found this on Craig's List

Craig's List--who woulda thunk? You got me at "rose-lipt maiden." Far too old to expect anything like that but not old enough to give up visions in that general direction. Your own poem is pretty darn good, well done!

To awake upon the morrow...If that's not Shakespear, it must be me!

Personally speaking there is everything I'd do (except break the law) to prevent having to move. The horror! I hope you can sift through all of your net connection options--and I hope the best one isn't awful. The most time I ever lived in one place was two years. Until now, that is. Same spot...

Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 Guide

You ARE the Man in Linux gaming, booman. Thank you very, very much!

OK, so they found Bob. Meh.

Thank you to ThunderRd and Daniel for the references and illumination! Read it first, but listening really adds a lot to the full flavor. He nails "All Quiet on the Western Front." War really bites for those in it.

    Three cheers for Mint!!!

    New to Linux

Thank you Dan. I reloaded/deleted/re-installed Opera. I think. They don't make the process real clear. The beauty is that the less than honest VPN seems to be gone, gone, gone. Me so happy! I don't have the energy to update Mint right now but I'm giving your suggestion plenty of consideration.

Happy Campers in safe harbor, having found the proverbial port in a Storm!

Eep, flooding in San Diego doesn't spring to mind. That you were stuck with the bailing bucket seems cruel.

    New to Linux

Thank you very much for your help, guys. I only sorta run Ubuntu, I have Mint Cinnamon 17.1 Err, that's Mint 17.3. Duurh. I have looked at nearly everything I have, but can't find anything that addresses Virtual Private Networks. Is reinstalling Mint 17.1 my only recourse? What about deleting...

    Airlander airship

The Seattle to Combined Base Lewis McChord corridor will be gone. Not to mention Bremerton and that place where the submarines congregate. Dunno if the Chinese still relay on a few 50 mega-tonners or not. Maybe you needn't worry at all, perhaps you'll be among the chosen too. Isn't it nice to be...

    New to Linux

I sure could use some help, please. I need to completely remove a VPN from my system. Having a difficult time with it. Seems there's a free VPN that comes with the Opera browser. That is NOT the problem. It's a bought and paid for VPN that refuses to work correctly. It's GOTTA be deleted, these...

    Airlander airship

Well---we have all but killed all of the whales. Love those Japanese "scientific" quotas, as well as the Norwegians and Faeroese and the rest of the northern Europeans that just gotta kill, kill, kill. Indigenous people don't count, as far as I know they do it the old fashioned way. Like the...

    Airlander airship

I don't know how far from guaranteed destruction you will be. Safe bet that I won't have to suffer, just an impossibly bright flash and I'll be vaporized. Can't say that I'm happy about it--but it's always something. It's said that when our nine point earthquake comes everyone to the west of...

Happy Campers in safe harbor, having found the proverbial port in a Storm!

It's great when turkey stuffing has the right taste and texture, it seems it's not easy to make just right. I truly love George Carlin. He was better and better as he got older and was taken from us too soon. There's an old English expression, "stuff and nonsense." Once upon a time in the US...

Well, forgive my ignorance. So there was a white whale, but Moby Dick was the "good" captain?

Happy Campers in safe harbor, having found the proverbial port in a Storm!

No monthly payments, VERY well done. It looks very nice. I'm guessing that at that altitude you'll be safe from floods. I sincerely hope so! Both of the mentioned rivers like to flood at a much lower altitude. One good thing, a fifth wheel trailer is MUCH less expensive to move than the kind...
