    Battlefield 2 & Patches Guide

No, I had no idea you could still play online, mostly because I have my own LAN server that runs Battlefield 2 (offline) in my Fedora server. So I'm not surprised. I could just host it online instead and others could probably join. Its nice when developers release dedicated servers for their...

Yet Another "Linux Saves the day"

Most of my computers are 5+ years old so I rarely have a chance to mess with UEFI I know its the newest greatest way to setup bootable hardware and SteamOS requires it. Glad to see OpenSUSE saved the day! Sad to see it go away! Hey that rhymes  Honestly, I'm not very impressed with...

    Renegade X Guide

Exactly! Some games work perfectly out-of-the-box, but other games are stubborn and require some trial-n-error. I'm basically saving everyone else from dealing with the hours of trial-n-error. When I started doing game testing in Linux, my goal was to see if my Window$ games would run or not...

    Renegade X Guide

I post a new guide every week, so I don't have a lot of time to play games. But I did spends a few hours playing different levels. Now that I know it runs online, I wish I had kept it installed. I have nothing against the terminal. It definitely has its uses! I'm just trying to keep all of...

Oops, I forgot about that... Thanks! I removed the links all together. Honestly I have already uninstalled Renegade X from my machine and moved on to testing other games. So I haven't tried online play yet. So will the servers in the external link work if I enter an IP address into the server...

    Need DDR3 1333 [Solved]

That might work! Here is my motherboard: MSI 870-G45 The specs show that it supports DDR3 1600 (OC*) After reading the reviews on Newegg.com for this motherboard, others are running DDR3 1600 How long do you think it will take to ship to US since you live in Thailand? Since Christmas is...

    Need DDR3 1333 [Solved]

Does anyone have an extra stick of DDR3 1333 you can sell to me? I can get some on newegg.com for $25.00 but I was hoping for more than a single 2 GB stick.

Discussion of systemd adoption by Debian, openrc, sysvinit

That is still "programmer language" to me :( It really seems like a developer controversy and since its an open community, people can fork if they want to. Instead of fighting, just fork it... I guess Hell, we all have a hard enough time getting along with laws, rules, money, religion, politics...

    Swordsman

The problem with Uplay was related to crypt32 and was recently fixed with Wine 1.7.30 and Wine 1.7.31 But you are already trying Wine 1.7.31 right? I had a similar problem with Swordsman the first time I tested it. The game downloaded and would launch, but never got to a character screen or...

Discussion of systemd adoption by Debian, openrc, sysvinit

I restored Allen's post ;) If there is a concern about New Linux users installing a process without knowing what it "really" is, I think this is important. I've read a bit about this conflict and even both of your posts here and still don't fully understand init and systemd So even as a power...

NVENC using FFMPEG (Geforce Kepler cards required with 346.16 drivers)

I use simplescreenrecorder because its "light weight", but I've noticed that my games are still choppy when recording. Does FFMpeg run any better when games are set to high resolution and high graphic settings?

NVENC using FFMPEG (Geforce Kepler cards required with 346.16 drivers)

Very cool. Are you using FFmpeg to record the screen or to convert your videos?

i hope so. They obviously use the same engine for each game. Or at least a similar version of the same engine. I'm going to try Swordsman one more time when I have a few hours to download it. I really want it to work in Linux
