[How to] Fix WINE underrun occurred problem

I've thought up of a solution after spending a few hours yesterday researching but, I'm gonna try reporting the problem first to see what the developers have to say. It doesn't really bother me that much that I can't record, the one video I did for astebreed game was an experiment that worked...

    Valve In-Home Game Streaming

He's not that far from the truth though... those companies will try to capitalize on that with the excuse that it's hammering their services thus everyone should upgrade to a new shiny data plan. It just gonna costs an arm and leg. As for that feature. I think I want to see Steam client be...

Astebreed, a japanese shoot 'em up!

I'm going to do a few corrections here because I got the audio working, don't install xact. I'm using winetricks at the moment because I don't want to install PoL. winetricks directx9 xact_jun2010 dinput (override as builtin) To make the game stop crashing, as you will get some exceptions and...

[How to] Fix WINE underrun occurred problem

Just some headsup with SimpleScreenRecorder. If you have dmix active, there's a high chance SSR won't pick up the audio for some reason, not even changing backends with ALSA works, but if you change the monitor to another source (managed by PA) it works.

    Why do you like GNU/Linux?

Alright. I'm sorry if I made you or anyone feel like I was throwing dirt on GNU/Linux to go on the defense route, it's not my intention either to disrupt the community, quite the opposite I just wanted to bring fair ground. I agree with some of your points, some others, not so much. But like you...

500 games on Steam for Linux with much more on the way

Mass Effect 3 had a lot of flak a years ago. I still remember all the hate haha. 1) The decisions you took didn't affect the ending in any way. 2) The story took quite a lot of heat. Those were most of the topics talked.

Astebreed, a japanese shoot 'em up!

I tested this yesterday after compiling a lot of WINE versions. The game works almost flawlessly, with only one little bug which I hope a more experienced WINE user solves. There's no audio. The game thinks there's no "audio" in the system. It gets a bit laggy with recordmydesktop, I'm...

Batman: Arkham Asylum & Arkham City Guide

I never had problems with dotnet with WINE 1.7.16, using Debian (sid). However... the FPS drop is a huge problem, making the game almost unplayable. I'm gonna try with WINE 1.7.8 later on since I got it compiled and it's just waiting to be used :) Another step that I might do before switching...

    Why do you like GNU/Linux?

Just in case, I never doubted it wasn't, haha. A lot of things are easier to manage. And I absolutely agree with you on PulseAudio. I can't live without it, although I sometimes wish there was a even more powerful app than K-Mix, but well, it provides me the option to change sources to other...

[How to] Fix WINE underrun occurred problem

Hey booman, I just saw this reply but yea. I haven't seen any problems with my How-To yet. Sometimes if it gets a bit choppy, as in there's some noises that shouldn't be there. Try to give a higher priority to the game, in KDE you can use ksysguard, right click the process and set priority

    Why do you like GNU/Linux?

You know, not to nitpick but drivers just doesn't work out of the box sometimes, this includes the typical wireless drivers problems users have. "The same can't be said for windows" is pretty much a myth, there are drivers cases on both linux and windows. Same with BSOD, the old days are gone...

    Borderlands 2 setup

Hey guys. For some reason Borderlands 2 doesn't want to run. I don't know what got into it to be honest I ran it using Wine 1.7.8, 1.7.16, 1.7.20 I even used the same bottle (virtual drive) to run Skyrim, Batman Arkham Asylum, Scribblenauts and they work just fine. (Although I had problems...

Picked up some games on GOG.com

I know exactly what you mean. Every day we are hoping Steam client on WINE doesn't break for us Linux users. Even if GOG has a client, their games are still DRM-Free and they don't have any plans of tying said games to the client. Which is why GOG will get my support, regardless!

Picked up some games on GOG.com

Actually, a client done right is useful. A client that can bring updates to your games, be it bug fixes, patches, content update is something that needs to be had for new games. Old games didn't need that, which is why I believe GOG decided to go with just a download manager. But now they are...

Picked up some games on GOG.com

I think it's more complicated than that. Piracy is an issue that has been dealt with digital distribution over time. Sales are proof of that, however, companies will also try to develop clients like Ubisoft did with uPlay (most horrendous thing ever created) and try to snatch the userbase Steam...

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition on Steam

Hey Aryvan, you might want to check the AppDB in WINEHQ https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=27560&iTestingId=79619 Weirdly it doesn't work with 1.5.22. (So I'm going to assume that 1.5.20 is also affected) If you feel comfortable, try compiling or using 1.6.x version...

    Why do you like GNU/Linux?

I have been wondering, booman, but why so many computers? If you don't mind me asking! Now. I'm not some sort of righteous guy, I've had my share of windows copies, except for Windows 8 because it costed me $30 bucks to get. A great deal, isn't it? Now, compared to the price of Windows 7? It's...
