Thank you for your reply! I did not know that it was, but I'm happy to assent to your opinion! Dang, it's important that I be able to watch DVD's with my PC. I hate to upset the apple cart that runs so well, Mint Cinnamon 19.1 that is. The folks that made Mint 19.1 are to be greatly commended...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Well said, thank you for your post. How do we regain the democracy we lost? This is a very difficult time, I believe that we allowed democracy to slip away into history. Regaining it will require great strength from our people. Do we have the necessary strength? I hope and pray we do. 1 good...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

You bring up important points Dan and I'm guilty of blaming others for matters that are my responsibility. Being powerless against the evils I see is perhaps not completely true. Yet to say that you and I have a voice that's heard at the ballot box is pure fantasy. You are welcome to believe...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

You write of necessary evils to protect us from greater evils. OK, I agree with that. It's just sad that you or any other thinking person believes we live in a democracy. Oops, surely I can't believe that? I was busy "protecting" this bitter excuse for a democracy when we were both young men...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Groucho had a lightning fast mind, it was something to behold!

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Nah, it's not music. Except to the ears of military worshiping idiots. There are a lot of such idiots out there. They don't think they're idiots. Who am I to dissent from madness? What happened to the rifle toss backwards with bayonets? Maybe we lost some of our worshipful attitude?

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

And the beat goes on... I understood that being a soldier is not that much different from being a slave. Do what "massa" says or be punished severely. With few exceptions senior NCO's are or at least were pure evil bastards. Sam Cooke's original song really grabbed me as a kid.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Good story to know, thank you Daniel! If only the song was more easily sung. The words are indeed great yet it's so hard to sing...

But I scorn them nearly all of the time. Doesn't mean I'm wrong or right about them.

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

I certainly remember this one, thanks Dan. The pic you cite is a bit strange, where does the woman end and the leaves begin? I hope she isn't becoming compost!

    LED lighting damages your eyes

Thank you very much for the "graph" danrok. It looks like 2700 Kelvin doesn't feature any blue. If I can find LED bulbs that put out 2700 K I think no one's eyes seeing it would be "over blued."

Can anyone recommend a Media Player program that will let me see my DVD player in Mint Cinnamon 19.1? Used to love VLC but a substitute would be great.

    LED lighting damages your eyes

I can attest to the fact that incandescent light bulbs nowadays are made to die extremely quickly. Got eleven days burning time out of a 60-watt bulb that's under the range hood recently. And that was "running" all the time, no off and ons to strain it's poor widdle filament. They more often...

Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

This is a true story. There is a monument to the boll weevil in downtown Enterprise, Alabama. It commemorates the local farmers plowing under their cotton crop and planting wire grass instead. This is a Southern name for a peanut crop. Peanuts made them rich. You could say that the boll weevil...
