Bloom is a mash-up of Blood, Doom and a side of DukeNukem all in one!
Experience Doom II like never before... everything is corrupted and all the minions are mutated abominations! Have fun!


Linux install

Pre-requisites
Needed either from original Doom 1or2 Disc/Installation or from Freedoom website
  • freedoom2.wad
  • doom.wad

GZDoom Installation and Test Run
  • Install GZDoom here: https://zdoom.org/downloads
  • Run GZDoom one time to populate the necessary folders in your home
  • GZDoom will error, close it
  • Go to: https://freedoom.github.io/download.html
  • Download freedoom wad files
  • Extract to your Desktop
  • Copy freedoom1.wad & freedoom2.wad
  • Paste in the following directory: /home/username/.config/gzdoom (hidden files may have to be enabled)
  • Run GZDoom again and select freedoom2 to test if Doom is working

Mod Installation
  • Download the Bloom_Final_Release_GzDoom.zip from Moddb.com
  • Extract to your desktop
  • Open the following folder: /home/username/.config/gzdoom (hidden files may have to be enabled)
  • Open the Bloom_Final_Release_GzDoom folder on your desktop
  • Open gzdoom-4-6-0-Windows-64bit folder
  • Copy Bloom.pk3 and paste in the gzdoom folder into the gzdoom folder
  • Open Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
  • Copy the following command
  • Past in Terminal
  • Run
  • Select freedoom2.wad
  • Wait a bit while the game loads and then press Esc to open the menu and start a new game!

Mod Launch
  • Run Terminal
  • Copy command below
  • gzdoom -iwad freedom2.wad -file Bloom.pk3 freedoom2.pk3 brightmaps.pk3 game_support.pk3 lights.pk3
  • Paste in terminal
  • Run
  • Select freedoom2.wad
