I haven't been a regular here in a bit. But atp the forum I moved to is such an insane pile of crap you get banned for having any legitimate complaints. So, instead I want to move my stuff to another platform. I tried reddit but it's full of wannabes that will ban you the moment their inconcievably small bits get at all bothered. I am currently hacking windows and making videos. Would it be OK to have a thread here for that?
Hey Aramis, We are a Linux gaming site, so we aren't really focused on Windows, except to the extent that some games have to be run under Wine or similar. I'll have to discuss it with the others, but frankly my main concern is that our site is small and focused on Linux gaming, as I said. It might not be the best place for your work to get exposure?
If you want to create a thread for your Windows stuff, let me know and I'll give you a subforum that you can use. Currently we don't have any subforums for Windows but it's no big deal to make one.
It's not rly just windows stuff, though that's one thing I am playing with. On second thought, unless you guys want to expand your board, I think I have something started in efforts to reboot what my other community had before. However if you wanted to add a 'hacking' section of sorts, I have plenty of things to post about emulators that's rather on topic. The other things I am loo ING at rn are more to have a thread I can send to my boss in the windows 10 AME team so he can see where I am at and I don't annoy the ever living shit out of him.
Hey Aramis, Just let us know what you feel comfortable doing. The hacking thing sounds like it might be interesting, but it's completely up to you. Also, thanks for asking!
A lot of the things I do in my hacker is to make older hardware be able to do things it shouldn't. Games are on that list. I just wanna stay on topic. Atm I am working on stuff to get GameCube games playable on ppc macs, among other things. If that's of use to the board, then by all means make a section and I'll be posting on the reg again, possibly to an annoying degree.
OK, I can do that. What would you propose to call it? 'GameCube on ppc' is too tight and restrictive, and only you know what assorted projects you're playing with. Maybe something more general and encompassing?
Thanxs I wanna highlight, the other forum I was on I had to literally fight with them to add or remove anything. Like even run around getting a petition. It's hilarious to me that yall are li e 'yeah whatever sounds cool'
As long as the topic is within the rules, nothing illegal, we've no objection to hosting it. Any kind of software hacking that disables protections or uses illegal hacks would be unwelcome, but I doubt you're doing anything like that. Personally I'm interested in hardware hacks and anything that enables unused potential in common hardware like graphic cards, mainboards or memory [even if it's risky].
Yaay you're ok. I was a little worried not havin seen a post in your section when I looked. If yall are good with it, you can delete this thread
