PlayOnLinux developers have not been advertising PlayOnLinux 5 and its development. It seems they have been working on it for the last year or so, but apparently its not ready because they haven't posted any news. Not even Alpha/Beta news...

Someone in the POL forum posted this PhoenicisOrg on GitHub and if you click on scripts, it appears that they are re-writing scripts for a bunch of popular games. Its cool that they are able to successfully run game in the new PlayOnLinux 5, but is scripting the way to go?

PlayOnLinux has been pushing scripting to the community for years now and it is the biggest complaint by Linux Gamers. The scripts are either out-of-date, broken or just do not exist for many games. Why would they start the same process all over again?

I admit, scripts are great when they work, but if it breaks, someone has to notify the developers and wait for it to be patched and tested. This could take a long long long time...

Lutris seems to copy the same work-flow but has some issues. So that is not an option. I'm running out of ideas for the future of Windows games in Linux.
