I pulled out a xubuntu disc the other day because I missed it. I am putting arch up because a lot of packages weren't done correctly and I am honestly a bit lazy. I'll reinstall when I feel that will all be fixed.

So I'm trying to install the proprietary drivers and it just doesn't let me. I'll do a screen record in a while. Every time I click on FGLRX as an option it just goes back ot he open source drivers.

Try using apt-get if synaptic is failing you. I seem to remember multiple problems with the nvidia drivers and the package manager, but it's been a long time since I used it.

In Sid, I use apt-get for everything, and it works every time; I'd think you might have similar results in *buntu.
