Hello everyone. I have been trying to install any games from steam for the past few days, but I keep getting steam missing file privileges error. I have been looking forward to playing it, but don’t know how to get past this error. Please can anyone help me with this issue? Any help will be appreciated.

    What distro are you using?
    32-bit or 64-bit?

Try removing Steam and re-installing to be sure it has the permissions it needs.

You can also run Steam from the Terminal, then post the output so we can see the errors

Thanks for replying. I am using 64 bit. I have already tried the above process, but the problem was unchanged.

Have you installed 32-bit libraries for your distro?
This is important for apps and games, not to mention Vulkan drivers as well.

I finally found this article by doing a Google search. I have solved my problem by applying a process mentioned there. I just closed the igfxEM module before opening Steam. Now I can install and update games on Steam without any problem.
