Westerado in Proton

Westerado is a 2D open-world, 8-bit inspired, western shoot-em-up action adventure game. Your family was murdered by a bandit and you chase him and his posse down. But first, you got to find him by investigating and asking questions around town. Interact with everyone in the game, quick travel to areas on the map, or lone-gun it riding your horse across dangerous terrain. Sneak through underground mines or across barren deserts. Either way... you are gonna DIE!

Your reputation play an important role in Westerado as well. Locals will help you if you help them first, or they will kill you if you play hard-ball. Once I shot a turkey on some farmers land and he attacked me. Every time I went back to his farm I was his sworn enemy. Be careful who and what you shoot.

Running Westerado was flawless with Proton 5.0-7
Never had any issues with settings, keyboard/mouse or load/save.

Encodya Demo

Encodya is an point-in-click adventure based in a futuristic Neo-Berlin Germany. Play as Tina and/or SAM-53 her robot protector. The visual style is reminiscent of Bladerunner-ish world with a colorful anime style.

I love the fact that you can play as two characters who are completely different and have their own inventories. The voice acting was great and worked well with the characters presented in the demo. I would love if more items were interactive, but these days gamers no longer have patience to click everything on the screen.

Since its a demo, there are limited areas you can visit. But the animations, graphics and effects are well done and quite beautiful. Encodya ran perfectly in Linux without any extra configurations.

I crowdfunded Wolcen Lords of Mayhem back when it was on Kickstarter as Umbra. Hoping they would do a Linux port and implement co-op they finally finished it and runs great in Proton. I'm assuming it will probably never get a Linux port, but as long as my investment was well rewarded I'm ok with playing in Proton.

I was able to run Wolcen with all the settings on high and can play offline or online without any serious issues. This game is beautiful! Epic animated backgrounds with waves and soldiers... I'm not regretting my $15 cost years and years ago.

Torchlight II

Recently I've been playing Torchlight II in Steam and GOG. Both versions still run perfectly without issues and I was able to play co-op online and offline with friends and family. The game still absolutely ROCKS with intense mini-bosses, randomly generated minions and huge boss fights. Your character will level up quickly so each time you play try a different class and level up a different skill. Its like playing the first time over again, but you are familiar with the levels and story, but even the levels change a bit.

Contemp is a very short horror puzzle game where you explore a mysterious haunted house. It is almost like an experimental tech demo. The design of the house is amazingly detailed and realistic. If anything, enjoy the terrifying experience in this creepy house.

I was able to play in PlayOnLinux with Wine and DXVK. Never had any issues running the game or controlling it.

Crumbling World is a lowpoly action RPG with a unique feature: The world is constantly crumbling around around you.
Use portals to move around the map before you fall off the crumbling landscape and end up in the Underworld. Yes, you don't immediately die... instead you fight your way through the Underworld and hop in a portal back to the upperworld. Crazy huh?

NaissanceE in Proton

Just finished NaissanceE in Proton. What an epic game! It starts out humbly with some small light/dark jump puzzles... but stick with it and you will traverse through massive surreal areas.

There were several areas that I almost gave up. Very difficult jumps, puzzles and repetition. On occasion I had to look up the solution online, but I would try to solve it myself several times before giving up.

This game has a real geometric Tron-ish graphical style. Even the music has the synthetic digital sounds like in Tron.

I was able to play with all the settings on high. VSync enabled prevented screen tearing.
