Credit where it's due, Phil Spector knew something good when he produced it!

This one was drilled into my brain too. Had no idea that Shelley Fabares (interesting name) was a babe.

My favorite by the Coasters.... A tribute to Western movies and shoot'm ups!
    I'm pretty sure they had Gary Cooper in mind.":O}

As the sound is not great....
    Lyrics
I plopped down in my easy chair and turned on Channel 2
A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was chasin' poor Sweet Sue
He trapped her in the old sawmill and said with an evil laugh,
"If you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'll saw you all in half!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He turned on the bandsaw (and then, and then!)
    And then along came Jones
    Tall, thin Jones
    Slow-walkin' Jones
    Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones
Commercial came on, so I got up to get myself a snack
You should've seen what was goin' on by the time that I got back
Down in the old abandoned mine, Sweet Sue was havin' fits
That villain said, "give me the deed to your ranch
Or I'll blow you all to bits!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He lit the fuse to the dynamite (and then, and then!)
    And then along came Jones
    Tall, thin Jones
    Slow-walkin' Jones
    Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones
I got so bugged I turned it off and turned on another show
But there was the same old shoot-'em-up and the same old rodeo
Salty Sam was tryin' to stuff Sweet Sue in a burlap sack
He said, "if you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'm gonna throw you on the railroad tracks!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He threw her on the railroad tracks (and then)
A train started comin' (and then, and then!)
    And then along came Jones
    Tall, thin Jones
    Slow-walkin' Jones
    Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones

Despite their loose ways and skimpy dress, their pure aggression intimated many into pretending to like them.

Here is a rare appearance, the first without any weapons on display...This was the lastsong before they were banned by the NRA for Bump stocking.

It's just a fact of life...A pump just has to be primed if it is to bring up any water.
So old hand pumps always had a a bucket or a can of of water to help the stranger with his/her thirst.

If the bucket was empty, you had to pump like mad, to get an air. suction into the entire line in order to bring a water suction up. If the seals were worn or dried out and cracked you could die of thirst while trying to pump up a suction.

A little water from another time greatly eased our progress.

In the 6th grade I had a teacher by the name of Mr Lawrence.
I was a terrible pain in his ass. Even so I liked him very much.
He read "Charlot's web" to us among others..

    And

He played guitar and sang to us!!

This was the one we requested most often. He had explained to us the terror and pain of the Great Depression. The armies of homeless who lined the rail road tracks that led no where good.He told us that his father had been homeless a a boy
faceless and hungry he had wandered the Great depression.

His father had taught him this song...So it was precises to us.
    Many thanks Mr. Lawrence.

    Lyrics
If you ever change your mind
    About leaving, leaving me behind
Oh, oh, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
I know I laughed when you left
But now I know I only hurt myself
Oh, oh, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
I'll give you jewelry and money too
That ain't all, that ain't all I'll do for you
Oh, if bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
You know I'll always be your slave
'Till I'm buried, buried in my grave
Oh, honey bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
    One more thing
I tried to treat you right
But you stayed out, stayed out at night
But I forgive you, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah)
