New desktop after a few years of pause

For Servers I definitely recommend Fedora, but you won't like the Gnome 3 desktop, so its better to revert back to Gnome 2. For typical "home use" I recommend Mint because its more like Windows than the rest of them. Daniel loves Mint, so if he can do it, anyone can ;)

    Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Guide

I think I had that problem originally too. There are some dependencies involved to get everything to work. The most important part is making sure the ESP files are in the proper location. Then they will show-up in the "Data Files" so you can check them and enable them. Here is a quick guide on...

    PlayOnLinux Update avialable (4.2.2)

Nope, but I found out by launching PlayOnLinux this morning. I just remember every time I read a post in the PlayOnLinux forum, DJ would always say to update to the newest PlayOnLinux. Since I'm constantly testing games, I might as well be the one to try the new version.

    Neverwinter Free MMO Guide

Check this out! I can actually browse games in Arc now! This is the first time I've seen it work. I didn't change anything except updated to PlayOnLinux 4.2.2 I found that I could no longer launch the game. I get an MD5 error each time, so I tried launching the arc.exe, arclauncher.exe...

NSA intercepts PC shipments and installs spyware

Hmm I see now... Maybe installing software on a really tiny partition?

    PlayOnLinux Update avialable (4.2.2)

Ironically I already saw the update in Mint Software Updater... pretty cool huh? But I went ahead and downloaded the .deb installer and used apt-get remove to uninstall. Thats cool Arch will allow you to flag a program so they will update.

    PlayOnLinux Update avialable (4.2.2)

PlayOnLinux developers do not update very often, so when they do, it has to be significant. http://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html The best way to update and retain all of your games/shortcuts/libraries/wine versions is to copy these folders to your desktop: Fonts Icons Resources Scripts...

Great! Thanks for the link... I'll check it out

    Future Pinball

Awesome, thanks for posting Future Pinball and how you got it to run. I have a "soft spot" in my heart for pinball games. I don't know why... but I've always like them. I have a Microsoft Pinball CD-ROM that has a bunch of very realistic tables and its really fun. Its old enough that I think it...

    iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

Yes, I actually tried POL_Install_Steam and you are right, the PNG error doesn't appear. I couldn't agree more! Maybe some day PlayOnLinux will have a paid staff who can update those old scripts on a regular basis, but until that happens, our readers will know the basics of installing a game...

    Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Guide

Strange, the link still works for me. Try it today. I really wish MGE would run in Linux. That would be the best optimizer for Morrowind because its still in development. If by chance, you figure it out, please post.

NSA intercepts PC shipments and installs spyware

Why would the NSA waste time diverting shipments when they can just install their spyware via internet and email just like Malware?

New desktop after a few years of pause

I have 3 Gigabyte boards and they run beautifully! Actually I just upgraded to a Core2Duo (I know old huh?) and one Gigabyte board had a problem with the E8400, but the other board didn't have any issues. My Mint computer has a Gigabyte GA 907A-D3 It runs perfectly and Mint is cruising with my...

    Batman: Arkham Origins

Hmm, I wonder if I should try that with Crysis 2? It has a lot of memory leaks... do you think there is any relation to GLSL and Memory leaks? I'll keep my eye out for the Batman games.... I've only heard good things, so I might as well pick them up.

    Batman: Arkham Origins

Awesome! I don't know what it is about Batman, but everyone loves him! These games look really cool and I'm tempted to check them out. Was there a specific reason for disabling GLSL? I can't remember the last game I played with it disabled...

    iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

I just tried installing Steam from the PlayOnLinux scripts and it automatically starts installing Wine 1.5.25 Hello! Nothing before 1.7.8 will work with Steam... This is the common problem with Scripts is they don't get updated! Scrap that idea

    League of Legends Help

My problem with Mint 14 is the package manager will only give me Nvidia 310 drivers. So I can't update from there. I either have to install newer versions of Mint or install Nvidia manually. I am able to run most games with Nvidia 310 drivers, so its not a huge deal. These League of Legends...

    iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

Interesting, so maybe the POL Devs have fixed the problem. I almost never install Steam from Install Packages or scripts. It breaks the flow of my guides because PlayOnLinux won't automatially start the shortcut prompt. Unfortunately the way I install Steam the stinking -no-dwrite breaks the...
