As always and as expected, these Windows clients will receive an update and break in Wine/Proton.
Happens all the time and it prevents us from playing our games.

Examples of gaming clients
Battle.net
Ubi Connect
Origins
Steam (Windows version)
MMO Clients

Recent issues are with the Battle.net client
I've used Battle.net to play all of the Diablo games and for the most part it works fine...

Current version:
Patch 2.37.0

I was able to use Heroic Launcher
- Set Proton Experimental
- Installed Battle.net
- Logged in fine

There are reports of World of Warcraft not working so I'll give that a go as well.

I was able install a new prefix using Proton Experimental and Battle.net launched fine.
Logged in and now the store/ & my games show.

Downloaded Diablo Immortal but it crashes when launching after the patching screen.

Not going to try WoW yet because it is pretty big... like 118 GB

Looks like other versions of Proton do not work either.
The Battle.net client will launch and login, but no games or store

That's why they where saying to use wine-staging-10.7-tkg version. try that one from here! wine-10.7-staging-tkg For me it locks up and freezes when trying to play wow. but i have really old system 2nd gen only 8gb of ram. i do not like this version. i really liked Wine-GE-Proton8-26 Released. But this isn't being created anymore from GloriousEggroll This version worked i was able to play now i cannot :(

The problem with switching from Proton to Wine in Heroic launcher is the C drive location.
Proton creates a pfx folder where the C drive is and all the Windows folders
Wine just puts the C drive in the prefix directly.

This is an issue because once I switch to Wine Battle.net shortcut launch because its still in the pfx folder created by Proton.

I'll try creating a new prefix with just Wine and install Battle.net again.
Then I'll try that version you mentioned

Yup, I'm aware of that login issue where the icon just spins infinitely. So annoying!
Are you playing WoW classic or just Wow?

Here is the video of World of Warcraft working with Wine wine-10.7-staging-tkg-amd64

Everything seemed to install and setup correctly. I might test it with Proton Experimental as well.

How did you use Heroic Launcher install game. i need guide i never used it before. sweet you got it to work
Hmm, good idea. I haven't done any guides for Heroic Launcher as I've just started using it.

I'll try to put one together for you.

OK i think i did it right. i installed battlenet in Heroic Launcher. then copied my game files over. But now its even worse the menu lags like wobbly dobbly lol. really bad. How much ram do you have in your system? maybe 8gb is to little now for that wine version

I have 16 GB of RAM (DDR3 1333)
Its older RAM but still works good enough.

My computer is getting old too. About 11 years old. I've upgraded to SSD drive and video card, but thats about it.
I have a 6 Core processor too.

Did you figure out how to make Heroic see your Wine version?

Just be careful switching from Wine to Proton in the same prefix. Like I said before, it messes with the directory structure.

mines i7 2600k i have been on this cpu for very long time. i had 16gb of corsair vengeance ram ddr3 1333 also one stick died i did memtest86 brought errors up so now i only have one 8gb stick single channel. I do have old kit 16gb of ddr3 1600 it may still work i will try see if wow works with it. Its better then having single channel of ram. I just dont understand how ge-wine worked perfectly fine bit these wine versions donts freezing locking up my pc. mouse moves very slow. I do have water cooler on it so it could be that i don't think it would be temps are fine. i haave to alot of troubleshooting i think?
