Bioshock Infinite

I just booted my computer and noticed that Bioshock infinite is now on Linux! I am downloading it to Steam now. I hope it really works, I will post later if it works. I think Aspyr was working on a port so hopefully it will work.

edit: BTW Aspyr says Civilaztion:BE for Linux might be released this week!

Yeah I saw that too after seeing a post on Reddit.
Please let us know if it runs or not. I've read it might be using a wine-ish wrapper instead of a native port.

I've put it on the back-burner for testing in PlayOnLinux, but I do have it in Steam.

I read on reddit that Aspyr wasn't doing the port.... but who knows if that is true.
I can't imagine a AAA company doing a wrapper for a AAA game like Bioshock Infinite.
Is it downloaded yet?

I read on Boilingsteam.com that Bioshock Infinite is coming in 2015
Newly announced for 2015:
Bioshock Infinite: 2K has announced that it would be coming to Linux very soon, probably in the first quarter of 2015. We know neither Feral nor Aspyr are working on it, so this either means it will be a wrapper, or someone else is working on a native port.
I have a feeling your game will download and then give you the classic "no executable" error

La Forge to Captain 'I am sorry to report that the dilithium crystals that that Quark sold use are substandard. The steam engine won't start. Some kind of failed executable error message. The warp core began to overheat and the computer terminated the start up sequence.":mad:

I know is 'Q's' fault! See the executable was assimilated by the Borg. Bioshock's distinctiveness was added to their own. :D

Yup, that seems to be common.
I don't know why Valve allows the game to be accessible when its not ready?
So misleading.

I wish there was a way to force company s to to fix it when devs miss mark their games. Valve/Steam says that the devs are supposed to mark them correctly when they upload games. They never have this problem in the Steam store, so why can't they put error trapping in the client to sync with the store. It's more human stupidity. Devs miss marking games when they upload them and Steam refusing to program the clients properly.

Did you verify the whole game downloaded?
If you have the hard drive space, just leave it installed and when they finalize you are mostly ready-to-go.
Otherwise you will have to download the entire game again.

Uh...
Star Trek Deadly Knights?
Steam Train Dawn Kites?
Silk Trim Dream Kills?

It doesn’t work yet. I don't know what engine it uses. Probably the same one as ETS2. Once its finished that is. I don't have an ETA yet.

That is a lot of acronyms... I"m getting lost here
