I just stumbled on this Fedora Musician's Guide on the Fedora website:
Fedora 16 Musician's Guide
Fedora 18 Musician's Guide

It appears to be a step-by-step guide on how to setup Fedora for multi-track recording.
This includes:
  • Sound Cards
  • Audio Connections
  • Sample Rates, Sample Formats, Bit Rate
  • Bit Rates
  • Pulseaudio, JACK, Phonon
  • Latency
Audio Software:
  • Audacity
  • Digital Audio Workstations
  • Ardour
  • Qtractor
  • Rosegarden
  • FluidSynth
  • Super Collider
  • Lilypond
  • DNU Solfedge

Its been over 12 years since I recorded and music, but I plan to build an amateur studio one day and start recording again. I would love to use Linux for my studio software and it appears Fedora may be a good option.

I have also heard about UbuntuStudio as well.
Seems like there are some nice options other than Mac and Windows

No problem. I always recorded with Windows and Cakewalk Sonor, but its been a long time and a lot has changed. Its funny, most of the recording gear is pretty much the same: Mics, mixing boards, input/output hardware, but software has changed a lot.
I would love to build a dedicated computer just for recording in Linux.
