I looked up a few jQuery slideshows for presenting PC Game Guides.
I don't have a system for implementing these, but maybe you guys will...
FTP would be great for uploading photos & linking to them in the code

    1. SlideJS (Free)
    Example
    This one if fully customizable

    2. ColorBox slideshow (Free MIT License)
    Examples
    Fully customizable
I really like this one because each slide resizes to the image size.
It also has HTML, linking, youtube and external code support... even iframe!
We could use this as a way to show all kinds of Guides and articles!

    3. Wow Slider (Free Non-Commercial Use)
Has a GUI so even Daniel can make a Guide
    Drag-n-drop Images
    No coding necessary
    Flicker & photobucket Support
    Builtin FTP client
    Save projects, Edit later
    Loads of Transitions
Windows and MAC only... kinda defeats the point in a Linux community huh?

I really wish the WOWSlider was Linux compatible because it would be perfect!
The first two are just fine for my uses... of course we can play around with the appearance and functionality because they are fully customizable

Can Admin do this for us Gizmo?

If you can find the time...I really think it would serve us better to wait and have a bit more to offer.

I know I've harped bit on this but....LOL

Consider the absolute brutality with which You surf the web. How likely are you to say to yourself, "well hell this is a new site...might become something, I think I'll continue to go there in case they can do what they say they want to." ?

Competition is just to fierce for the user to spend time with what may become something.

And Again...once we go public...the minute we go public we will be offering our ideas to the world....the world will take them and improve upon them if it can.

I advocate that as precious time is and short for us, we need to take some, now in the beginning when everything is pressing forward towards it natural development...and hold back. Restrain those forces and allow them to build a bit, we may not yet have had our best ideas... or the best implementation of the ideas we have.

Then we can invite friends, kick the tires...We need those friends to like us enough to return...to tell their friends if they are interested.
