Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Here's where we did it, in October:

Dobie made a big hit from it, but it wasn't actually his song, that is for certain.

This from Wikipedia:
""Drift Away" has also been covered by many bands and vocalists around the world. Versions include those of Uncle Kracker, Allan Clarke, Roy Orbison, Ike & Tina Turner, Humble Pie, Mud, Rod Stewart, James Hollis, Waylon Jennings, Ray Charles, Michael Bolton, the Neville Brothers, Jon Bon Jovi[19], Copperhead, Christian Kane, the Rolling Stones, the Nylons, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, BoDeans, Judson Spence, Billy Joe Royal, Steve Young and John Kay.[20] Folk singer Tom Rush recorded the song on his album What I Know, released in 2009."

No mention of the Doobie Brothers.

George, you are vindicated :)
TR your a regular Bull dog!

Amazing! I totally forgot that "Drift Away" had generated fear and doubt (in me) before. Wow, I must be far more careful in my repetitions!
Thank you ThunderRd, you are a great Member of this here joint!
Na, your repetitions are needed to get us through the day":O}

A lovely little tune to touch your hearts...

I was in a mall once when I noticed a small little girl running about laughing. suddenly she stopped dead and looked about.
The laughter gone.

She started to cry softly, bereft she looked like the loneliest child on Earth on the day Earth died.

I was about to approach her When her father came up behind her. I thought sure I'd get to see a touching reunion.

But no, once Dad was in sight she sped of laughing once more.

No surer proof of his paternity.":O}

Rooted in the civil rights movement in a time when Black Americans were thrown in jail for looking sideways at the white majority.

So a song of courage under fire. A song of pride in kinship, a song of small victories, a Song that takes us into the heat of oppression and leads on toward justice.

so i suffered from a disinclination of the ear
that soon broke my poor little heart ":O)

Sorry that your poor little heart was broken. Not certain what "a disinclination of the ear" is. Perhaps you'll expand upon that some day?

Wow, thanks for finding this one!
Ok I'm going to break the anti comparison rule. You how much I love these two gals, but have to say These guys are so much smoother on this song.. Understandable as they had lots of practice growing up.

And now one of my top 5 musical discoveries of the last year.
Perfect video perfect match up of then and now when it comes to performers.
