Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

"My Name Is Buddy"

Now my name is Buddy, don't you pity me
Don't you pity me, don't you pity me
My name is Buddy, don't you pity me
Don't you pity me, don't you pity me
Just because I ain't so big, you think I'm small
Well, you think I'm small, now you think I'm small
You go around with your head up in the clouds
You just tall, that's all, you just tall, that's all

Now, if you like your tree, better watch out for your tree
Watch out for your tree, Lord, that tree ain't free
The birds won't be round just to keep you company, no
Keep you company, no keep you company

Now if you like your little backyard, watch out for your backyard
Don't let them put a toll road right through your backyard
If you like your little backyard, watch out for your backyard
Don't let them put a toll road right through your backyard

Now You go around with your head up in the clouds
Head up in the clouds, your head up in the clouds
You go around with your head up in the clouds
Your head up in the clouds, oh your head up in the clouds
You ain't so big, now, you just tall, that's all

Now this land was made for you and me
Better watch out for your land, better watch out for your land
This land was made just for you and me
Better watch out for your land, better watch out for your land

I treasure and listen often to many of Iris's songs.
She's a deep well and her waters pure. One of my favorites is on her lighter side.
I always seem to picture a light spring rain...

Maybe one must be of a certain time, to understand why so much keeps going back to Southeast Asia. Many volunteered more were shanghaied..

The draft pulled many of my fellows out of their lives and we who did not go will always have a troubled look when we look into their eyes.

Most of those who went as boys came home and tried to learn to live as men
among their memories of tortured death.

No one has ever conveyed this to me so well as John.

What a wonderful mess that was. Americans at their very worst, yet there were a handful of great young Americans too. I admired the Doughnut Dollies a lot. Young American women who put their butts on the firing line to be helpful to GI's. They volunteered for dangerous duty without guns to make themselves feel more impervious.

They worked for the Red Cross, one "manned" a small trailer near our side of the runway. The doughnuts were less than good and the fruit drinks that came from a giant dairy outfit in Southern California were terrible. But we didn't care about that, it was really nice to be able to talk to these wonderful young women for a minute.

Disliked the movie a lot but...

Thought you might like another take, Same song different day.":O}

see how she gentles those who wish to touch her beauty

"Take My Breath Away"

Watching every motion
In my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean
Finally lovers know no shame

Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn around and say

Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Watching I keep waiting
Still anticipating love
Never hesitating
To become the fated ones
Turning and returning

To some secret place to find
Watching in slow motion
As you turn to me and say
My love

Take my breath away

Through the hourglass I saw you
In time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today
I am unafraid

Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Watching every motion
In this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion
Somewhere there's a love in flames

Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn my way and say

Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love"

Thanks for the lyrics, I hardly ever get them right.
