Cost somewhere south of 2 grand. I didn't mean it to, it just turned out that way.

Probably because of that State-Of-The-Art video card!!!
Geesh control yourself!

Actually, I decided not to get a SSD hard drive. Its on hold because I wanted to upgrade a few of my LAN Party machines first.
I did a bunch of research ( mostly on newegg.com) on different SSD drives. Most of them were $100 for 120 Gigs.
I did find that a lot of reviews claimed their drive would freeze shortly in intervals. Maybe once a day or so.
Some people claimed their motherboard didn't fully utilize the maximum speed.
Some had read/write failures.

I'm not convinced that SSD is ready for game use yet....
Maybe you can spread some knowledge?

Trust me, SSD's are well past where one needs to worry about using them for games. I have 5 of them (Wife's machine and my own.)Not a single problem. I have 2 Vertex 4 256 gig drives and 3 Corsair 90 gig Force 3 drives. All run perfectly.

Dead silent, dead cool and deadly fast...But let's face it price can be deadly to! It's dropping faster than a Hefner's shorts at an orgy. (I'm working on being more colorful in my posting! ":O}

Waiting will always help out with price. So waiting does no harm. But if someone wants to leave slow, hot and nosily behind and has the coin nothing but happiness and lot of really flashy speed awaits them. ":O}

I totally understand the benefits, but it sure is discouraging when people have problems. I'm not sure if they are over-reacting or abuse their hardware, but it stopped me from investing in one.
So Vertex and Corsair are pretty good?
I was looking at Intel, ScanDisk and Kingston.
They all have a $100 range SSD hard drive
What are the models you have?

90 Gigs is ok, but those other one's I mentioned before add an extra 30 Gigs for the same price... dang

I think you can probably do better price wise if you wait for a sale. Or if you just wait.":O}

oh I'll wait, if you see any sales, please let me know

Not a problem, you might mention this to Danrok he has a great sense of what the market place is doing.
