I think that quite a few animals live better morally than h. sapiens does.

Yes, but then they don't have to bring the light into this world...
But having brought it we can return "to that unknown but remembered place and know it for the first time."

"Tis a gift to be simple
tis a gift o be free
tis a gift to come down
to where we ought to be."

We cannot escape the ties that bind.

"will the circle remain remain unbroken
bye and bye Lord bye and bye"".

Sometimes it seems that animals are bringing light into the world. Subtle improvements. And doing a better job of it than I usually do.

Animals don't have morals; that's a human invention. Animals simply follow their natures.

They can be friendly and helpful, maybe I credit them with having too many people type values. Perhaps there are SO many humans that lack honor, trustworthiness or other redeeming features that some animals look great in comparison?

I'm not sure that I'd even go so far as to say there are 'so many' that lack honor. I think MOST people are decent folks, given half a chance to be. But the ones that AREN'T decent are by and large rather nasty pieces of work.

And we let most of them work their ways into positions of power. Haven't quite figured out how that works yet.

Psychopaths find it easy to "rise above" normal people, because they are adept at appearing to be regular folks. They comprise roughly two percent of the body politic. Giving people the benefit of the doubt allows them to take lots of power. But giving people the benefit of the doubt is very often the right thing to do.

How goes the battle, Daniel? Have you moved in to your new trailer? Are you back on the net? Have you enjoyed the serious smoke from Canada's wild fires?

I'm tempted to knee jerk "oh those bad Canadians," but I stopped and thought... betcha they've enjoyed smoke from our side of the border before.

I bet that the extra very unneeded bill to fix the car really messed up your moving in process. Sorry, I should have thought of that before my last post in this thread. I should have said "we miss you Dan," pure and simple.
